During this flight, I was thinking “Max is truly living the dream, right here, right now.” I’ve bern a pilot for over 25 years and just lost my dad. He was my first passenger, after I got my private long ago and we did everything together. So cherish those times my friend, they are priceless ! Oh my god. That is just so tragic and terrible. I am so sorry. I hear your pain and enormous love for Roly and I am without a doubt sure Roly knew every single day of his life how much he was unconditionally loved by you. He knew he was your co pilot and best buddy in the world. I really get it. My mother still keeps the ashes of our dog figo by her bed and says goodnight to him every night. She really believes he lives on in her heart and plans to be buried with him and all her dogs one day. She already has the plot. There is a man named Steve Greig (Wolfgang2242) that she follows on Instagram. He was so bereft when his dog died that he couldn’t function and was only able to find some solace by adopting an elderly dog (think he now has 10 and a pig named bikini too) he writes about the loss on his Instagram. Even if it’s just fostering at first. There is something about saving the life of an elderly dog that she believe saves you too. And it is not about ever ever being able to replace Roly. It will never happen. No one can replace Roly. But it is almost as a tribute to Roly and that place in your heart that he opened and where he will always live that there is room to save a dog destined to die alone in a shelter. It may take some time and that is okay...but my mom would say to be open to the idea of having a senior co pilot when you are ready. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to let you know I really do understand.

I am actually adopting a 5 year old German Shepherd from my local shelter, so I am very excited and can't wait. Adopting this dog has helped with my depression a lot, so once I bring him home on Monday or Tuesday I will be happy again. The only thing that worries me is how he is gone handle flying, but hopefully it won't be a problem. Once again thank you Max for that wonderful comment, it shows that you really care about your subscribers. I wish you and your family all the best and stay safe out there. Hopefully we can meet one day.
