otbway the CL-65 is more than just an entry level. It is a heavy jet in the corporate world. Would you like to fly it or just travel as a passenger?

Keyword...for me...Passenger. I was setting my eye on a smaller and cheaper plane rather than getting Global 8000 as my first. It would help me understand what how it's like to own a plane etc and will help me make better decision about buying planes in the future. Right now I'm thinking either an older Global Express or I'm starting to consider this one...I wouldn't be for right now, but I am planning on being a multi-millionnaire shortly and will require a plane so I'm shopping now to keep me motivated...

otbway A brand new 650 around 30mio something, subject to your personal preferences. But if you are flying below 350 hour annually, maybe consider a preowned 605 between 2008 - 2011, cheaper as hell, between 7,5mio - 11mio, just saying

Entry level is a falcon 8X. I'm sure most pax would prefer a converted airliner

no , Lewis Hamilton had the much older Challenger 604 with smaller windows and outdated avionics. The 650 ist 2 generations more modern than the 604.

Maybe they traded performance for comfort because there was a demand for it. I happen to like the airplane and would rather ride in total spacious comfort than get there a few minutes quicker.

The 650 is stand up wide body business jet with 7.500 km of range. The Lear 75 is a narrow body, the Citation X was a mid body that was killed and replaced by a clean sheet wide body Longitude with performance more in line with the Challenger 650. What good it makes a little more speed if you have to land for hours to refuel or if you can't cross the ocean? What's the speed at 51,000 ft?

that is the Head-up Display for EVS, the reason why this Challenger 650 has a sensor hump on the nose in front of the cockpit windows. It's an expensive option many Challenger customers do not order.

Probably for looks. It would look weird with them mounted on top of the wings. Look at the Honda jet. I'm sure it's a great plane and whatever, but it's pretty hard on the eyes.

If you have your own private jet in the usa, there is no rule stating you need to have a flight attendant. But if you're a gazillionaire, you probably want someone that will have your brand of coffee ready when you want it and have the exact type of Skittles your kid likes, all without having to be told. Its not like you are going to stop at the grocery store on the way to the airport to get that ice cream your wife likes. She hasn't blown you in years, why do that for her... You pay for both services now.

The windows only look tiny , because the 650 has such a large cabin size. The 650 has the same windows as the Global 6500.
