I got together with @civil_gorilla to checkout the latest @hall_constructors shoring and excavation job wrapping up in busy downtown Vancouver across from the Waterfront sky train station. It was about 100' deep and they moved like 35,000 m3 of dirt (46,000 yd3). Although not shown in this video Hall used a telescopic excavator on this site to dig from up top where larger equipment wasn't allowed.
In order to get the hammer head crane pad established. They drilled in 6 piles through the sidewalk to the underside of the sub grade elevation while the excavation was already half dug out, which is pretty amazing.
Here you see Hall lifting out their Cat 349 and John Deere 350 excavators with a mobile crane and landing them directly onto the deck of a transport trailer.
Now that’s how its done fellas.
