Arma isn't really the best for planes to be honest. Some of the maps are just too small, as crazy as that is to say about an Arma map. The island maps are good though, the ocean never really ends so it still feels immersive to travel long distances. I'll do most of my flying on them.
I find that jets ( especially the ones who are modded and can go mach+) are simply too fast for the maps they have and are hard to use with lower render distance
