Join us as we emBARK on our first official Pilots N Paws mission! In this flight-vlog we depart from the Denver, CO area in our Cessna 182 and fly VFR down to Woodward, OK to pick up a 2-year old shelter dog named Butch. We give Butch his first ride in an airplane as we fly him in style to his new FUR-ever home in Colorado Springs, CO.

Awesome video! Got my ppl on 2001. Let it go for a while as kids are expensive. Lol. Now am an empty nester. Got back into it. Don't own my own plane. Joined PnP recently offering service as a "first officer" - - radios and looking for traffic. But at least i can build experience(maybe log time) 🤷‍♂️ keep up the good work and videos!

Flying for Pilots n Paws is on my to do list this next year. I will be limited to small dogs or cats due to aircraft type. Thanks for sharing your experience of your first mission.

Thank you for creating this video! I am currently finishing up my PPL and will be in the market for a plane. I have wanted to get involved with PnP for a long time now. Beautiful airplane also!! Great job you two! Maybe sometime in the future we will be flying a mission together!

I like your vids so far! My only constructive criticism: the music is fine for a minute or so, but imo, you should fade it out after intro.

Why would a dog or cat need to fly by plane someplace why cant they take a car ride? Seems awful expensive an unnecessary. I'm not knocking this, I'm just trying to understand.

Pilots n Paws is a nonprofit organization that networks animal rescues and shelters with volunteers to provide transport, foster homes, medical care, etc. There are always ground transport opportunities, and plenty of generous volunteers that complete those requests regularly. Often times the opportunities for these animals span several state lines, making these trips very difficult to complete by ground due to time/distance/logistics. So what might be a 12-16hr transport by car is now 6 hours of flying. Less transport time for the animals and less time commitment for the transport volunteers. As for the cost of flying; that money is spent either way. For pilots like myself this is a great way to build flight time, stay proficient with cross country planning/flying, and support a good cause. This is also a fun way for my wife and I to combine our passions in a fulfilling way. Thanks for watching and following along!
