I just did a job that blessed me with a few Gopro12s. So I guess it is time to build up a Pavo35. I have been absolutely loving my pavo20. So I might as well stick with the form factor. It has just been durable AF so hoping the same out of the 35.
How do you feel about the aftermarket antennas on your goggles 2? I’ve been thinking of getting a pair but not sure if it’s worth the time. Notice better penetration or range at all?
I use the TrueRC patch antennas on my G2s when I’m either flying long range, or doing a fly through where I need more penetration in 1 particular direction (ie. Through a few walls) They’re definitely worth buying if doing any longer range flights and they make a big difference
Yeah, it’s actually a public right of way through the centre so you can walk through at any time pretty much. Although the shops are closed outside of business hours of course
This platform looks like it flies great! I'm surprised you put a full size gopro on it. I have the Pavo25 V2, and I've been super happy with it so far. Came in handy for a commercial shoot today around a winery!
Yes the Pavo 35 3.5inch is made for full sized GoPros. It carries it with ease and was flying for literally 10mins+ flight which was great I found. I typically use them for faster proximity flights (ie mountain bike chasing) or fly throughs where I need more flight time and space isn’t an issue 👌
So why choose the Pavo vs the Mavic? Looked the like the Mavic picture quality was better… would have been nice to have a side by side. I’m new to drones, so apologies if it’s an obvious answer.
They are 2 very different drones serving different purposes. The role of the Mavic is to get high and wide screens from further aback whereas the Pavo can fly indoors and get really close to objects, and also do manoeuvres the Mavic isn’t capable of. Different tools for different jobs 👍
Yes, I tend to ask clients which camera they’d prefer whether it be DJI or GoPro. In this case GoPro was the preferred option 👌 Glad you enjoyed the video
Wow what an opportunity to fly at a famous Belfast landmark. The shoppers probably were wondering why there’s a drone flying around lol. Well done Ben 👍
Yet again another epic performance from You dude you make it look so easy which it definitely is not very well done super professional keep up the great work 😎
Always love your BTS videos! But this one was lacking two important pieces of information for me. First one is about your GoPro settings. I guess light was very different inside and outside of the mall. Have you recorded in auto or with fixed shutter and ND and auto ISO? Second question is: how is this legally possible? Flying a fpv quad that is heavier than 250g without C-label inside a city without a spotter and outside of VLOS?
In terms of GoPro settings, I was using auto shutter and an ISO range of 100-400 because I was flying between bright skies and & the darker interior of the centre. In terms of the drone & rules etc, we are in the UK so we have a different rule set to EASA and as such C labels are not required for flight in built up areas, your specific operator license determines where you can operate different sizes of drones. For the start of the day, we used the Pavo as the centre was closed off and there were no people about. When it opened, we switched to the sub250g 2.5” quad as you saw, which is permitted for overflight of people. I had 2 spotters on this shoot too.
It depends where you’re flying, if you’re outside the No Fly Zone you don’t need permission from anyone so long as you takeoff on public land. However if you’re inside the NFZ you require the approval of Belfast City Airport
@@Jack-Mitchell. The drone rules, depending on what license you have are based around separation distances. As long as you’d adhere to the appropriate separation distances for your specific category drone you can fly them. In our case, we flew the Mavic at 7:30AM on an early Sunday morning when no one was about so the streets were empty and as such we could fly the drone. Just because a drone is above 250g does not mean you cannot fly it in a city, you just need to make sure you can adhere to separation distance requirements.
