Love the one flying geese with no waste. Making a half square triangle with the part not needed. First time I’ve seen that.

Good quality video and great explanation. I really appreciate the good contrast of the fabrics and the mat. I knew the 4 at a time method but finally seeing a no waste one at a time. Thank you.

Antler Designs Simple Folded Corners - large offers great way to trim flying geese given the 1/4 inch marking that you can align with your seam and trim perfect 1/4" top of point and of course all the way around. Four at a time rocks, too. I use dabs of glue on the center to secure the small squares. Keeps everything true and flat. And the STS method (starch the ___) out of fabric prior is a godsend.

Thank you Lisa for this video. Iv'e been looking for a video to make 12-in flying geese. I should have known to come to your site in the beginning. Wasn't sure if you had a detailed instruction for flying geese this size. You always have just the right project for whatever I need to make. You explained it so easily. That even though I haven't done flying geese I now can.

I enjoy watching you even though I am not sewing anymore. I am sorry but had to drop my support on Patreon as I don’t use it at all. Please it’s nothing personal at all.

Lisa, when you construct your t-shirt quilts, do you use a 1/4” seam allowance or a 1/2” seam allowance?
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead

I use a 1/4" seam :)
@anitra7747

@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead ok! I’ve always felt silly for forgetting to use a 1/2” seam allowance. So far the t-shirt quilts have been fine. Thanks Lisa!

Hi Lisa! Gotta ask, what's with the little black rectangles of fabric at the beginning and end of each seam you sew? Can't figure it out!

Hi Lisa. Do you wash your fabrics before you start using it, regardless of the color? Do you use cotton or polyester thread? Thanks! ......... truly, I've got to stop watching your videos.....laundry's got to be done sometime! LOL!
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead 3 года назад
Hi Kim :) I personally am not a pre-washer, although MANY are. I tend to use polyester threads more than cotton. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one with laundry taking a back seat these days hahahaha.
@kimg3922
@kimg3922 3 года назад
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead Hi Lisa. Thanks for your response. Wow....it seems both of us are on the same page! After all, why would you want to wash more than what's already been sitting in the laundry basket? I use polyester thread as well, but didn't know if it was the preferred kind for quilting. Thanks again Lisa!
