Capt. Wolfgang Raebiger is truly an image of a seasoned professional in charge of a big machine as a MD-11. He is very cool and a real pro. Excellent flying sir.

A smooth landing is not necessarily a safe landing. Especially in a wet or snowy environment, it is much safer and thus better to slam the aircraft down a bit, as to create grip for the tires as early as possible to make braking easier. This landing wasn't a particularly hard one, it was just fine for the conditions. Also _very_ far from structural damage to the aircraft.

Weird considering the McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F is a 2 man crew plane...the only thing I can imagine was the crew a (out-bound) brought crew b for the in-bound flight.
