Calling this car "areodynamically unstable" is actually an oversimplification. In fact, it was very areodynamic, as minimal aerodynamic drag was the primary design focus for this car. And they were quite successful with that, as the car had a very minimal drag coefficient. But there's a drawback: The ideal shape they came up with is actually very similar in it's lateral profile to an aricraft wing, with a flat bottom and a smoothly curved upper side. This creates an updraft, so the car literally took of like an airplane at high speeds.
