I can imagine them as some RTS game units Some dialogs they would have: Target acquired Nibbling the enemy (Muscovy's characteristic hissings) (Muscovy "engine like" sound) For the Pecking Order
(based on a true story) one day when me and my family were going to a friend’s house going back home, I saw a dog chasing after a muscovy duck, the poor thing panickingly flew really high and when it started to take off, nearly missed our car. Luckily the duck flew away safely to what seems to be a local lake.
😞 I never realised these beauties could fly and yesterday I purchased a Male and Female duck and by the time evening had started to fall my Boy duck had flown away, gone and nowhere to be found. I spent two and a half hours searching paddocks and Door knocking the area and Nothing. I'm devastated. 💔😢
Nikola Matković, Good Morning from Australia, the great News is We finally found him after 36 hours of flying around the neighbourhood...I had his flight feathers groomed by our Local vet and he has been grounded since.😉 I still Love watching this video and I do realise it's a natural process for these birds to fly, but With my Boy and girl I would absolutely hate for them to be hurt while flying about the streets.
Natalie Reeve yes I understand. I have to clip their wings too when spring comes because my nieighbours have fields and they go there and making troubles 😊 Greetings from Bosnia 😊
Nikola Matković, I love My birds, they are great pets and have so much character. 😉👍 Sounds like you have a fun time with your birds as well, I hope they stay out of Trouble lol 😆...Take care and I'll try later to put a video up of My big boy taking a swim...Have a good Evening. 😀
Nice i have muscovy ducks in my neighborhood. Right now a female made a nest by my door. The male always stays close by to her. They go out and eat during the day. She laid about 13. I put 3 back in the nest they were like 15 feet away…she accepted them. I just wish the ducks had space like this! Sometimes people in my neighborhood run them over. I want to put up a duck crossing sign.
I had pet muscovies growing up with all that goes with it including ducklings but they didn't seem to fly much by choice, only when needed. However, not long ago, I was amazed to see some that not only flew but actually perched high on tree branches which I really didn't know they could do with those webbed feet!
