The Flying Scotsman is such icon in British railways since it was built. But why do some people still don’t like it. I’m no hater of steam locomotives and I do remember seeing on when I was young at the time.

1968 wasn't QUITE the final year of steam in BR, just the end of MAINLINE steam. Somehow one little narrow gauge railway in Wales, the Vale of Rheidol railway (which BR had inherited from the GWR) kept on running. Not being sold off or shut down through to the end of the 1980s! So, thanks to this Welsh narrow gauge line and it's three little 2-6-2T steam engines, the actual last year of BR steam opperation was 1989! P.S. the Vale of Rheidol railway and it's 3 ex-BR tank engines still exists, it was sold to new owners in 1989, not shut down.

When do you feel like doing more history stories of Thomas? Hopefully you might wanna do the history of Bigg City Port in your next timeline video.

I must apologize for the lone break and I will explain in the description of my next video which should hopefully be up by the end of the week. As for a Tugs timeline... Stay tuned....

Hush hush was a 4-6-4 Hudson tho…

Whilst the Hush-Hush was built as a 4-6-4 but according to Gresley it was technically a 4-6-2-2. Annoyingly I can't find any information to explain why Gresley said it was a 4-6-2-2.
