Yep. Nice spending some time with my sister flying. And nice to visit Coeur d'Alene, although it was more to see our cousin than to visit the city. Maybe we'll get a chance to see the area on the ground sometime.
ipad is a serious upgrade to avionics. you could have two little reserve chutes in case control surfaces let you down. jump out, one leg through the hoop, hold on. doesn't have to be elegant to save your life.
I don't fly a base leg, per se. I fly a curved approach. Besides, if you fly a tight pattern-which I usually do-then you're just clogging the airwaves for no reason, as you go from downwind to final over a very short period of time.
