The PDF should be on one document. How I did mine is I went to Kaiser website from safari (I have an iPhone) then from the web browser I change my view to desktop view then printed to PDF. Once I got the PDF I saved to my documents then uploaded it that way to the safe travels portal. Try it on a desktop or make sure you change your web browser view to desktop view if you are using an iPhone

You can take a print out and they should be able to help you at the airport. It’s recommended that you always print these types of documents just in case you don’t have service in the airport or in case the server is down you will still have paper proof. For your flight back home to CA no testing is required since Hawaii is in the US it would be considered a domestic flight within the US so for the state of California no testing is required to reenter. I alway recommend checking the CDC website before your travels to ensure you are following the current travel Restrictions

Hi Angelica are you coming back to the mainland or international? Hawaii is a part of the United States so there is no documentation required to return to the mainland. I went a few months back so things may have changed but for us returning to California, nothing was required to come back home
No a screenshot will not be allowed we saw many people try with this method and were told that they need to log into the safe travels portal and show the QR code from there. You have to have your test results in a PDF form then upload that to your account. I hope this information helps 😊

I agree it’s just not the same anymore. For Hawaii we did not have to take a test to come back to California because it’s still within the United States. This may change in the future or for other countries but for now domestic travels from Hawaii do not require a test to come back to California
My situation is even more frustrating...we fly the first leg out of ATL at 1:30pm on Saturday...then fly out of LAX at 6:50pm Saturday...so, does that mean I can't test before 6:50pm Wednesday ATL time, or LA time? My gut says LA time, which is frustrating bc there's no way we'll get a test appointment at 9:50pm in ATL...and with kids in school all day with finals Thursday, we won't be able to get a test until after 2 on Thursday. That's cutting it super close for my taste. Ugh.
Hi Desiree you will have to base the testing time off the 6:50pm pst flight since it’s the final flight into Hawaii. We got all 3 test we took back within 48 hours. Carbon health guarantees 24 hour turnaround time but they also charge a fee for testing. There have been many changes since June 15th so to be sure I would recommend contacting your airline and or state of Hawaii to confirm. I’ve heard it’s age 3 and up but have also read 5 and up so I am not sure about the new travel requirements

Hi There. You can test anywhere as long as the testing time is within 72 hours from your departing flight into Hawaii. So for you since your final flight into Hawaii is from SD you will have to take the test according to SD time zone . I know this sounds very confusing but don’t base test time on your home state base that test time on where your final flight into Hawaii is from. I hope that makes sense. I would also recommend contacting your airline if you still aren’t sure 😊
when do you get the actual QR code? is it only 24 hours prior to your departure when you do the health questionnaire? I already uploaded the negative covid tests. thx!
24 hours b4 flight you can do the questionnaire and the QR code should have been email to you after you uploaded your results. It should also be in the safe travels account

Hi Cole you would base your testing time on the final flight into Hawaii. So in your case it would be the connecting flight time not the original departing time. I know it’s super confusing so please let me know if you have any other questions 😊

Hi yes mine did show a time stamp. If they have the wrong time stamp I would give PWNHealth a call ( that’s the name of the testing facility that our test results came from it may differ per store or state) if you can’t reach anyone definitely lean on Walgreens for help.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for making this video. May I please ask what time was your flight since they are very strict with the 72 hours, I would like to know if your flight was at 8am? I remembered you took the covid test 4-1-21 at 9am and 9:45am so I am thinking your flight was 4-4-21 earlier to be on the 72 time frame? I am just confused if they are counting 72 hours before your flight or when you reached Hawaii. TIA.
Hi Allyn my flight was at 8AM Sunday April 4 so I was able to take the test anytime after 8AM to be within the 72 hour window. The 72 hours is based on your flight time not arrival time so for example if your flight is at 8AM then you would use 8AM (departing time) and take the test within 72 hours of the departing time. I took my test at 9am because that’s when Kaiser opened , I am not sure what time Walgreens opens we just took that test as a backup to ensure one test would come back on time. I know the timing is very confusing, I myself called my airline and the state of Hawaii to confirm the testing time. Both were very resourceful so if you are still unsure I advise calling your airline to confirm. I hope this helps, let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Thanks for watching 😊

@@positivity5727 you are very welcome, anyway I can help others I will when it comes to guides. Hawaiian airlines is so great they served us a hot meal instead of snacks and the staff was super nice. With Hawaiian airlines they are one of the airlines that has check in here in CA so when you land in Hawaii it is smooth sailing in the airport. You get to walk out like normal. We saw people who weren’t cleared they we’re stoped and needed to provide proof of the negative testing along with the information from their safe travels act. Safe travels and enjoy your trip. What if you trip involves going to multiple islands? I’m traveling from GA to Maui on a Sunday and then to Oahu on a Wednesday. Will I need to take a second test to get to the second island?
Hi mike, I am not sure about the in state travel from Maui to Oahu. We only visited Oahu on this trip. I would think you do not need to take another test just because you are not leaving the state of Hawaii you are simply island hopping. To be on the safe side I would advise you check with your airline or with the state of Hawaii to make sure you have what you need to go to Oahu after your time in Maui.
@@JenniferTran hi, I found out you can inter-travel from any island to Oahu without a Covid test but you do have to take a Covid test within 72hrs to inter-travel to the other islands

If you are visiting the mainland (oahu) and you are only visiting that island and you are not island hopping do you need to get tested for Covid again when flying back to the United States? I have heard no but I want to double check.
Hi Tanner no there is no test required back to the US. Hawaii is a part of the United States so you only need to get a covid test when you go to Hawaii but not coming back to the mainland 😊

We flew out on a Sunday and I have had other family/friends fly out on weekdays and weekends and they had no issues with testing and more importantly getting the results back in time. I would recommend confirming with your testing facility about turnaround times. I know this whole process can be stressful but once you have these things in place just think about how you will be enjoying your vacation in Hawaii 😊
Starting July 8th vaccinated travelers fr the US mainland will be able to travel to Hawaii without pre-testing as long as you have proof of vaccination.

It’s 72 hours from your departing flight into Hawaii so if you have a non stop you will base your test time from the departing flight. If you have a connecting flight you will use the departing time from your final flight into Hawaii
Is the carbon health a rapid test? When I tried to sign up on the website, one portion is telling me (not accepted for Hawaii travels) and the other portion is saying it works? I just wanna make sure if I spend the money that it will be accepted. I leave for Hawaii may 20th 😅
Hi for carbon health select the appointment box that says COVID-19 travel clearance testing it cost $170 here in California (echo park location) on the website or app they have 2 type of covid test so please ensure you are selecting the correct one. There are other options for testing as well, Walgreens is free and some airlines also offer airport testing. Check with your airline first you may be able to save some money and get it for feee through the airline 😊 please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Marlene you would need to take your test may 22 anytime after 8:15am. The time is based on your flight time and time zone not Hawaii time. I know the times are super confusing I had to call my airline to confirm just to be sure. As long as it’s 72 from your flight time and it’s the final leg of your flight so if you have a connecting flight you use your flight time from the last flight into Hawaii but if you have a non stop flight from LAX you use that flight time. What airline are you taking? Some offer testing for free and at LAX. Some airlines also with conduct the clearance at the airport too so you don’t have deal with the paperwork when you land in Hawaii. Let me know if you have any other questions 😊

@@marleneagatha ok good it’s a non stop flight so it makes the timing a bit easier. since you have a non stop flight then use the 8:15am time for the 72 hour test. I don’t believe American is offering testing at LAX but things can always change from now until May so keep checking the website weekly to be up to date. As for Walgreens, correct the test you need is called The PCR test. All the others ones listed on the website will not be accepted by the state of Hawaii. Walgreens doesn’t allow scheduling test that far in advance so I would recommend making your appointment closer to your travel date.

Hi Ethan correct anytime on the 31st after 8:15am will put you within 72 hours of flight departing time. I do not have any info on CVS as we took our test at Walgreens.
Hi Jenny for Kaiser they actually swabbed my mouth and nasal. I’m not sure what the difference is because at Walgreens and carbon health they only did the nasal swab. I hope that helps 😊 please let me know if you have any other questions

Hi Ricky unfortunately taking the test on the 22nd is not within 72 hours from your flight. You have to take the test between the 23-25 for it to be valid. I would try going to another testing location and also giving your airline or the state of Hawaii a call to see what other options are available but based on what the safe travels site says you have to take a test within 72 hours from your final flight into Hawaii

We will be traveling to Hawaii in july 20, we made an appointment through the safe travel, whoever they are partners with, it’ll be in Long Beach on july 17, it’ll be 4 of us, but hubby is asking if Walgreens was accepted too when you did it
@@marinelldyer3286 hi at the time of my travel Walgreens was accepted as a trusted partner and the test was free. I am not sure if that has changed since so many new restrictions occur daily. If the testing facility you are using is listed on the safe travels website then you should be good to go. If you guys are flying from Ontario and parking on site you can book reservations for parking online it is very easy and you can choose which lot you would like to park in. I never park in premium parking lot because it cost a lot and the lots right next to them are cheaper. It’s literally a fence that separates the 2 lots so to save money I recommend not using the premium parking lots you can use lot 2 or 4 😊
Did you get PCR or IDNOW rapid test from Walgreens? And how long did the results take? I’m so anxious! I have an appt at Walgreens for the IDNOW test, which is NAAT
Hi Arie I got the PCR test not the rapid testing from Walgreens. Our results came back with 48 hours (took the test around 10am and got results back next day at 5PM) I would recommend calling Walgreens to confirm that test is valid for travels to Hawaii. We got the one that reads diagnostic lab test (PCR) on their website and that one worked so just double check so you don’t have any issues with the testing. Hi Jennifer, thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We, the family of 7, will be going to Hawaii on May 18th. I bought the tickets before realize about the required test which I'm still very confuse and worry. I have few questions hope you can help clear things up a little 1. Our flight starts from TX and connect at LAX which wil leave to HNL at 6:50PM on May 18th. Ideally, we should take the test on May 15th to meet the 72 hrs window. However, 6:50PM PST is 8:50PM CST. At this time, all the testing facilities are closed. so can I take the test on May 16th at 9AM when they open? I plan to take the test at the nearby Walgreens though, so I'm not sure in your case how long did you get the result back from WG? 2. do we need to create the safe travel account for each member of the family separately or I can create 1 account and add the rest of the members under the same account? 3. My daughter is under 15 yrs old, is there any different travel requirement for kid under 18 as far as testing go?

How exciting 😊 I know with these travel Restrictions it makes the flying process very confusing so I’ll answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. I hope it helps and if you need just visit the state website linked in the description box of this video. You will be able to find all this information online. 1. Based on the information about your departing flight from LAX you would go off the 6:50pm PST time for the COVID testing. I am not sure how this will work for you since the testing centers are closed at that time. To be safe I would advise calling your airline or the state of Hawaii to confirm exactly what date/time you should take the test. I called my airline and the state they both were very helpful. I would say yes you are able to take the test on May 16 first thing in the morning but just double check. Walgreens test results came back within 48 hours (took the test at 10am and received results next day at 5pm) their website does say the results can take up to 72 hours to get results so it would range anywhere between 24-72 hours for results to come back. 2. You are able to create one Safe Travels account for your family as along as all members being added are under 18 years old. Anyone over 18 will need their own. For each member you are adding to your account they will need to be listed individually so the COVID test, and health questionnaire will need to be for each member. You will all share the same account though. For anyone over 18 they need to set up their own even though they are apart of your family. 3. There are no travel Restrictions or anything different for this age group.they need to have the same type of testing done as you. Best of luck to you and enjoy your family trip 😊
Hi Nick you have to get the PCR please refer back to the state of Hawaii travel website it is linked in the description of the video. You have to follow the guidelines and only take the required test any other test will not be accepted by the state of Hawaii. We got our results back within 48 hours. Delivery times vary you can check with the Walgreens you are taking the test at for more information. I hope this helps 😊
Hi thank you for watching I only uploaded my Kaiser results since I got those first. I only tested at Walgreens as a back up. It’s free so we took advantage of that. As long as you have a negative test uploaded you are good to go

@@JenniferTran Hi thanks for the reply. Ive just flown to Hawaii and Hawaii does accept Rapid tests from trusted partners. The rapid test took 20 mins to get the results unlike the PCR test that takes 24hrs to receive.
@@sheilakarlen5266 you will need to use your web browser instead of the App. Once you have the website pulled up in the browser change your view to desktop view. I have an iPhone so it automatically pulls up Kaiser in the mobile form. I had to change view to desktop and then click test results to see the PDF. Please give that a try and let me know if it works that way.
If that doesn’t work you can call Kaiser and they should be able to email it you. Another option is when you are in the browser in the Kaiser website click print then select print to PDF that should work. Best of luck and if you are still having issues just let me know 😊
Hi Minzy we took our test at 10am on a Thursday and received the results back the next day (Friday) at 5pm so a little over 24 hours. That was our experience I can’t speak on behalf of anyone else as every Walgreens and laboratory may operate differently. I hope this helps 😊
How did you get your Kaiser results in PDF? I submitted a request but they said it takes 5 days.. I fly in 24 hours Also... does walgreens give you results in pdf? The safe travels app also asks for hawaii form and some other one... im confused 😫
Hi Mayra for my Kaiser app since I only have a mobile device what I did was open up the results in Safari and change your Mobile view to desktop view. From there on the iPhone just cluck print and then select print to PDF and it will generate a PDF format. Save that PDF to your phone and then upload to the safe travels app. If you were on a PC simply click on the results select file print and then change your print from paper to PDF and save it to your PC and upload to the safe travels website I know that sounds really confusing so let me know if you still need help with that I’d be happy to walk you through it. My Walgreen‘s results did come in a PDF form so I just clicked on it and saved it to my iPhone then upload it to the safe travels website. The form they are referring to is on the safe travels website it’s the second icon called health questionnaire all you have to do is answer the questions and you are done
Hello Ray, the 72 hour COVID testing is a requirement by the state of Hawaii. It doesn’t matter where you are flying domestic or international getting a COVID test 72 hours prior to your flight into Hawaii is required. Some airlines offer testing but most of them don’t. If you choose not to take the test your other option would be a mandatory 10 self quarantine once you arrive in Hawaii. I hope this information helps you with planning your trip. Hello yes that is correct less than 24 hours, we took the test right when Kaiser opened on Thursday morning and I received the test back on Friday at 12:05 AM . Kaiser does not guarantee results back in 24 hours they say anywhere between 24 to 72 however with my experience I was able to get it back fairly quickly.

@@leelaylieu1239 hi yes Kaiser allows you make an appointment so when you call to make your appointment they will order the test then on the day you go it should be a drive up appointment (it was like that at the Baldwin park location) you just check in with a guard and then he or she will direct you to the designated area. You pull up they verify you and do the test right there in your car it’s very easy. Call the appointments line to confirm I know that feeling of second guessing yourself that was me days before our trip lol

If I take flight from New York, and have the connect flight at San Francisco then flight to Honolulu, does it mean I won't have any issue? Or it should not have any connecting flight? Thanks
Hi Jacky. Test sample collection date can be a bit confusing. As long as the collection date is no earlier than 72 hours before departure on the final leg to Hawaii you are good to go. If you have a non stop flight then base this time on your departing time. For connecting flights use the departing time of your final flight to Hawaii. In your case this would be your flight time from San Francisco and not New York. It’s whatever flight you take to Hawaii. Hope this helps 😊

They exempt it within minutes of uploading. I am not sure if we got lucky or if that is the standard time. To be sure call the state of Hawaii with any questions in regards to upload time 😀

Hi yes per the Hawaii safe travels website it indicates 24 hours before flight. I think as long as it’s within 24 hours you will be fine but I would just try to do it 24 hours before to be safe you don’t want to risk not being approved for screening

Thank you Jennifer, I haven't seen my mom in over 2 years, she usually visits me in California every year from Hawaii where I'm originally from. But with covid and what I do for work (firefighter) I didn't want her to visit till she got vaccinated. Anyhow, we we're all stressed about her return trip till we saw your vlog and we thank you for such a detailed vlog. We looked at a few RU-vid videos but your video by far was the best and it gave me the confidence to book my mom's tickets after I finished watching! Plus you we got the same last name! So it's gotta be good! Oh last thing... how long did you wait for kaiser's test results? Thank you again! Excellent work!
Hi aww thank you so much for the kind Words!! Enjoy your time with your mom when she visits. For Kaiser I got my test results back at 12:05 am so it was less than 24 hours. We took the test around 9AM on Thursday and got results Friday at 12:05 in the morning so great turn around time. For Walgreens it took almost 48 hours. Hi Jennifer! I've been watching all of your Hawaii vlogs and I am actually going next week with my friends! I had a question about Kaiser Permanente's COVID test booking- did you make an appointment just through your Kaiser account through the Kaiser website/app to book just a normal COVID swab? Or were you able to find a specific link to book an appointment for traveling? I've been having a hard time with Kaiser and booking an appointment specifically for traveling! Not sure if it is just a regular one.
Hi Kim I had the same issue when trying toame an appointment so I just called the appointment line told them I needed a test they scheduled for me. They need to put in an order for the test. On the day of your appointment you just drive up and it’s very easy. Give them a call and they should be able to help you 😊
Lol most people do I had to call the state of Hawaii to make sure what day to take my test. Hopefully traveling gets easier soon. Thank you for watching 😊
