Bro, in the same way lahore is only 50kms from amritsar. There is no need to worry about safety because Iraqi Kurdistan has its own; -kurdish army, -PM and President. seperate from the Iraq. Iraqi Kurdistan (northern iraq) is totally 'safe and normal' like any other country. The danger is the Southern Iraq. Northern Iraq is totally safe.
There is no need to be worried the ISIS have been disarmed and are lying low currently, even the US has called back it's army troops because the situation has more or less neutralised.
