Thank you so much for the video I will travel soon with my Pomeranian but I am worried about barking during the flight and if there is a pet relief area in the airport and if I am allowed to to walk him throughout the airport on leash so any advise?
Tuval !! We luckily didn’t experience much barking while flying. Charlie mostly just slept. One time while flying she woke up and started barking. I think she got confused and scared (barking is usually a sign of fear). I just put my hand down to her in the bag and talked a little to her to calm her down. Don’t mind the other people, it’s the same with a crying baby. If they’re annoyed it’s their problem, not yours. :) Airports are required to have pet relief areas, it’s just about finding them. We didn’t walk Charlie inside the airport, but we have seen others do it. Just use a leash. :) And if you’re still worried, talk to your vet about anti-anxiety medication. We didn’t use that, but it depends on the dog.
I am not really sure honestly... Charlie loves her bag and always wants to jump in it. Maybe have your pom be comfortable in the bag first. Then go on smaller trips and try to close the bag and place it on the floor in a car, bus or train. Charlie didn’t like it at first when I closed the bag, so I had to push her gently and later she got used to it, stopped crying/barking and just lied down and relaxed. Best advice I can give is to have patience. :)
