After two years, I finally got to fly overseas. This time round, to Los Angeles. I will head to Brazil in the next video that will be uploaded.
Anyway, here is just my flight to LAX, and a slight review. You all please judge for yourself. Personally I'd say definitely not Singapore Airlines quality, but the flight was "just ok" if you're a regular passenger.

Nice video. The service is not bad at all - I must say better than or about the same as Qantas. That mid-flight snack is certainly a nice bonus. Most big name airlines only give you 2 hot meals or hot meal and pre-landing snacks, but United is nice enough to feed you 3 times in the air. Plus United (and AA and Delta) is known for its outstanding IFE system.

Great video! Just wanted to know what adapter you would need to charge a laptop? Also, was their WiFi if you needed to do emails while in the air?!

Any adapter will do. Also to get their wifi just follow their instructions, although that said it doesn't work if crossing through the Pacific nor Atlantic oceans unless if you're close to land (because water doesn't have reception).

Thank you for this video. I'll be flying out of LAX to Sydney in a couple weeks on the same plane. Can I plug in my laptop? I don't have long battery life. Also, Timtams are the bomb!

Yes you can plug in your laptop but best as long as there's no earth pin on your charger then it should be fine, ideally

@@YZsTravelAdventures yeah left LAX around 11pm. Spent the last few days at Disney before we left so was pretty tired. Slept the first 7 hours. The rest of the flight slept on and off but I always make the mistake of watching the screen with time remaining! Drags the time out in the end. Nice review. New sub to the channel

Hi Yz, just watched your video today as thinking of flying United due to my own disaster with QF. Great video. Could i ask, did you only get the 2 main meals and the snack box? Or did they provide other mini snack meals throughout the flight? Thank you 😊

I only got those two meals and the snack box (because too many empty calories otherwise). But you could get more snack boxes if you asked. Funnily enough the plane was pretty empty and they offered a lot of food for you to try.

A$2.6k, $2.3k for base economy on United, plus $300 upgrade for this sector to premium economy. Also I flew Australia - USA - Brazil and return so that affected the fare pricing

I had to get status (star alliance gold) which meant a lot of flying on relatively more expensive fares. So you do pay to get status in terms of flights but you can't pay directly for access.

We're you able to get into the lounges in the US? Delta made it so even if you have status you can't enter without a American express card or first class ticket which sucks. My velocity Amex didn't qualify. 😞

I also went to LA for the Chinese food. Good stuff hiding around the San Gabriel Valley too. Yes the food is kinda meh, not great. I prefer Singapore Airlines as well 🤣

@@YZsTravelAdventures I found better tasting Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, European and other international food in Australia than in USA. IMHO even American fast food chains in australia serve tastier treats. Taste is on the tongue of the eater.😜

@@Wog68 that said that can be true. But I've had good tasting Chinese and Vietnamese food in LA. Likewise with Vietnamese food in Orange County California. Having said that, fast food chains are definitely better in Australia and Europe than the states. Seems like they put a whole lot of chemicals in their food (disgusting imho)

@@YZsTravelAdventures There is a big difference burger/whopper in USA and Austrelia. In California there is one Vietnamese place that serve only one item with variety of flavor/garnishing that is similar to one Indian dish. (I am not reckoning the name at all). Actually, variety of Vietnamese and Chinese food has increased and improved in Australia in past 25 years. Back in nineties what take a ways were popular for was DimSim. In downtown melbourne you would get all international cousins and a value price but better quality. Australia has got better except in real estate and property markets. Also, cities are not quieter. As they were before. However, Australian metros still beat most international metros in noise, gasoline and other environmental pollutions.
