My name is Linsay Lusyne and I am the founder of The Vision Loss Travel community. Which is growing out to be a beautiful community filled with adventures, inspiration and support for each other. We share our travels, our tips and tricks about traveling with a visual impairment or blindness, but we also share our doubts and our fears. Eventually we come together in this group to celebrate everyone's small and big wins. This webinar will - be recorded and be posted on our you tube page, Vision Loss travel. So if you need a recap of this webinar, you can go and check it out over on this you tube page. Subscribe if you don’t want to miss anything… As it will fill up with interesting webinars, ASMR videos of my travels and interviews with inspiring people.
Flying is stressful for everyone, there is so much that is out of our control and the environment is not necessary the most Zen, for that you are better off at the spa.
Maybe your anxiety kicks in, even thinking about it? Well, today we are going to take that all away and prepare you as well as possible.
We are first going to talk about the practical side of traveling, but stick till the end where I will give you 5 precious tips on how to handle with the actual anxiety and stress during the flight.
Traveling has proved to be very empowering. When we travel and overcome our fears, we feel more confident and proud of ourselves. We get more resilient for change and more accepting of new cultures, food and smells. It enriches our lives so much. I have met many inspiring people over the years, people that are completely blind and travel the world ALONE with their cane. What is their secret and what makes them so confident? We share all those insights and tips within the facebook group called the vision loss travel community, which is filled with brave people that travel the world or just dream about visiting a nearby city and need that extra support to do so. Traveling can be anything, it can be visiting a museum, taking the train, going by yourself to another state. Whatever travel is for you, we are here to support you and celebrate your small or big wins. Find our community on facebook as the vision loss travel community

I really enjoyed listening to this webinar. You are a great speaker, and your points are very well presented. I'm blind since birth, and I've traveled a lot solo by plane, both domestically and internationally. I have no guide dog, but you gave me a good idea of what it's like to travel with one--something I was very curious about.. I agree with all you say about the importance of cane usage, and of taking advantage of all the assistance available, even if it is wheelchair assistance. While I have no anxiety problems, I'm sure the tips you gave will be very helpful for those who do deal with anxiety. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to what's coming.

I am in USA. I am not legally blind but born with low vision from Albinism. I have relatives in Paris and would like to visit next year. Booking my flight is a possibility next year. What's the advantage of Ingenito search?

Hey Sheryl, The advantages of searching in incognito is that google doesn't see what you are searching for. Because when they know what you are looking for the prices of those tickets start rising. It is such a weird thing, but it's true. So when you search make sure to do it in the incognito tab. So your prices stay low. Mainly around 3months before departure you should find the cheaper prices.

All I can say about that is to ask for assistance. All airports are different and so much changes all the time. Do you use a cane?
