We take another look at the spitfire from Flyingiron simulations (because it is that good) also some tips to setting the spitfire up for a near perfect take off and landing.

Never thought I’d be able to tell my friends that Slim Shady taught me how to fly a spitfire

Man I am having such a hard time deciding between whether to get this of the Flyingiron BF 109 first. Being a Brit the Spitfire is the natural first choice and the plane I was obsessed with as a kid, but the BF 109 looks and sounds so authentic too that it's stiff competition. I'll inevitably have to grab both, just gotta decide which to nab first.

In the real aircraft you'd spend as little time as possible with the boost at zero or less, it can foul the plugs. It's one reason why pilots during WW-2 would land off a break, the hard 180 turn entering downwind bled the speed off ready for gear and flaps despite the boost staying above zero. The finals turn is one long curve to maintain the best view you can get of the runway. Probably you know this, so I just wasted the effort writing it :-))) I bought the Flyingiron Spit as soon as it released, but the takeoff behaviour was really odd back then. I've flown a MKIX motion simulator that was built for the purpose of converting pilots onto the real thing, so I had a reasonable clue how the Spit should behave. With the FlyingIron version the tail just seemed to snap up almost violently at about 60 mph without any user input at all. They've obviously tweaked that going by your video. In flight it does seem very Spit like ( I've also flown a real MKIX, although obviously no takeoff or landing ) I'm almost tempted to reinstall MSFS after watching your video but the constant forced updates were just really getting on my nerves.

You should reinstall MSFS if just for the spitfire, running the boost below 0 is unavoidable as it spends a lot of time down there taxing the main issue there is preventing boiling the coolant I do get what you mean with the long approaches this was mainly for those who don't have the confidence to do a turning approach
