If the racing didn't exist soon, the breed would disappear. Similarly, people want to ban horse drawn carriages, not understanding that the horses they're 'saving' would largely be euthanized.

@@Peg-zl9lr Why would the breed disappear? They may be bred at much lower numbers to be companion animals. Your argument doesn't hold water. Certainly homes would need to be found for the dogs in the industry- and that would be challenging, or maybe it would have to be phased out in some way. But humans have created this problem, so humans should be able to come up with a solution to keep these dogs safe until they are adopted into loving homes- I'm sure the government could step in here to support this.

Yes Flynn is having a good life with a very loving family. He loves the chance to run when he chooses and he also loves resting on the sofa!!! He's certainly a family member.

@popkinson Greyhounds never have to run. They are never forced to race. You can't force a greyhound to do anything. They race because they love it, they love the chase to catch the lure. Once those gates open, you can't stop a greyhound from racing.

@@popkinson Explain to me how you can force a greyhound to run, money or otherwise. Your opinion is wrong. Racing owners don't get rich racing their greyhounds, far from it. Greyhounds have no idea money is being bet on them, they just want to race to catch the lure. Greyhounds that don't have enough prey drive to chase, get an early retirement and go home with their owner or they get adopted. You simply can't make a greyhound race, it's impossible.
