FlySky FS-i6 Ten Channel Firmware Upgrade

In this video I will upgrade my FlySky FS-i6 transmitter with a custom firmware to unlock the four auxilary switches, going from six to ten channels! NOTE: I am using this with a FS-iA6B receiver running ibus.

Thanks a lot, this was stressing me out for over an hour. Just to let others know....when you click or double click on ( 10ch_mod_16programmer_v1_5) and nothing opens or loads, ( Right click and run it as administrator) i did this and it worked perfectly. 10/10

It worked. For anyone how would like to do this they shoyld know that in order to use an arduino it must be clear of any code otherwise it wont work

I have followed your tutorial, the firmware version shows on the program on PC, but when I press the program button the progress bar does not fill up, any ideas? Thanks for the tut though.

Hey, I used Node MCU and it worked. So, I guess one can use any development board to do it in place of arduino uno . Thanks man!

Hi,cool it worked with u,I bought the usb cable for this radio,and installed the driver for it,chose the right port,the USB key led light works too,Bür I do c the version number and the computer gives me device not connected..

Hello very efficient video. thanks. How to reset the TIMER used for ch3- throttle for a plane? Impossible to reset to 0 sec even when pushing any button...It is reset to 0 sec only when turn off-on the Tx!

The update was smooth, but now I cant find where in the menu to change 'output mode' to i.bus Any hints on where to activate that now? or did something go wrong?!

im now trying without the reset pin, i can open the com port, but when i try to program it ann error message says 'device is not connected, what should I do? thanks!

Oke it worked for me .. I have a question. I have a flip switch swA to channel ch5 I have turning knob Vrb to channel ch6 I have fs ia6 6 channels reciever. How can i change channel 4 from the stick to a switch . Channel 4 is now a stick channel but i want to change it to SwD ( swd is now channel 7) How do i change that? Please reply to this message

I have Self centering now in my FS-I6 but after flashing the firmware mod i have no point in the hidden menu to turn self centering on so it does not give a warning. How do i get this option back? Thank you

hi bro. ensure 1. from win cp ...LPT/Port set to 11500, 2. flow control : Hardware. I ve bricked already of wrong setting the aboves. if it bricked ---> do ...(move H trim (Left Stick) to left. and left stick to bottom left )+Power on. LCD didnt show anything but it was program mode. repeat upgrade firm ware with two important things i wrote,

+Anush K Have you set your transmitter to firmware update mode? How are you connecting your transmitter to your computer? Via Arduino? If so, have you tried changing the COM port? Let me know if you solve it! /Axel

Yeah i have set my transmitter to firmware update mode. Connected it using Arduino UNO. Com port also i have checked. I tried same steps using the simulator cable that i got for my ct6b transmitter. Still same issue. i guess my receiver is not running in ibus mode. can that be a issue?

I'm not sure if the ibus matters... Try watching some other videos explaining this process, as I might have missed some crucial steps. I have two examples in the description of this video that I used as guides when flashing my transmitter.

there is an original file on the github page i think, igf not look up ohter video on how to update it, look in their video descriptiosn for github and look for original file.

Yes any wire will do. The ones I used were simple jumper wires I got with an arduino start kit.

Depends on which country you live but I suppose most online electronic stores for example Sparkfun have it. Cheers!

I plug my arduino in and it shows in device manager under com 20! Stuffed as the flasher only goes upto comm 8!

+Demi Quad Wow that's strange. Have you tried connecting your arduino to another USB port? Or maybe unplug any other USB devices and then see which Com port the arduino appears under..?

Crash and Learn FPV found a way to fix it. You can change the com port number under advanced settings in device manager. Hope this helps anyone else. Thanks again for the video and for taking the time to reply buddy. Happy holidays

You go to device manager, click on view ,click on show hidden devices, now free up some ports not in use by installing them. Now go to the port which is active , select port settings, select Advanced, change your port to that range com (3-8). For this while uninstalling device you uninstall a device in range of com (3-8).

Link to the file is in the description. You click the green button saying "Clone or download". Then find the downloaded zip file on your computer (Ctrl+J if you're using Chrome), open file and unzip

+Detours for Derrik Yeah I can imagine. I've been thinking about getting a DJI for photography but would be pretty nervous about wrecking it. Racing drones are pretty bullet proof though, main breakages are props and antennas

+Detours for Derrik Hm, haven't thought of that. Not sure but I'll look into it! The antennas on the channel receivers are soft, so why can't the video transmitter on the quad be?

Mine is t working. It picked my firmware up a couple times... was finicky... then it BRICKED!😣 Now it wont pick it up at all... using a nano 3.. And a my simulator cable wont open the com port.. FAAAACCK!

I suppose so, since you only use it as a gateway between the USB and the COM interface. Give it a try and reply with the results!

All I'm getting is invalid port number( its actually correct though) and device not connected (obviously it is) been trying to upgrade this thing for weeks with the same thing over and over. UUGGGHH

+SuperNinjaZX9R Argh that's annoying! Have you tried different computers with preferably different operating systems? Also, there are several different versions of the Firmware Upgrade Hack on the github page, have you tried an older version?

Thank you for replying! I have not tried a different computer, but i have tried all the versions available. I ordered 2 different cables last night, I will try again once they come in! TYTY
