Andrew Demko has said flat out that they are both made in the same factory in Taiwan so he has final say over how the lock is utilized for the first time outside of demko. So it’s an identical locking system with almost everything being of equal quality.
I would agree. But, my preference would be the Demko Knives AD20.5. Why? I just like the way it looks. And, I know the handle is really comfortable to me. I am sure, both, are awesome Folders. Thank you for sharing. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Thanks for making this video in response to my question! I don't think anyone has done an indepth review and comparison of the two, nor did they provide it in a clear and concise conversational format! I am loving your videos so far, and they are providing a lot of guidance on my journey in the world of knives.
Glad it was helpful! And thank you for the question. It's easy to make videos when I know the question folks want answered! I just got into knives about 4 years ago by this point, and a big part of me is doing this to make the videos I wish I'd had back then. I hope you continue to find them useful, and please don't hesitate to ask any other questions you have - big or small. Happy to have you here!
I like my slicer shark cub way more than my 20.5, much more reasonable blade stock on the cubs. And for some reason the ‘detent’ feels better on the cub. Oh and the sharpening choil/plunge grind is way better too. Definitely would like to handle an arcade sometime too
Wouldn’t surprise me if you could swap the blades. They may have taken the existing shark lock compoments from the AD20.5 and just designed the flytanium handels around. Didn‘t see the stop pin position though.
