Thank you for the very informative video. I was trying to decide between the V2.5 or the V3. Thanks to you and all the information you have provided, I now know that I will be going with the V3. No other videos on these helicopters are nearly as helpful as your videos are. Excellent job and thank you sir!
Thank you so much for the very informative video, it answered so many of my questions. I always enjoy your candor, info, advice and humor. Keep up the great work. 👍
Excellent video. I was being goofy and was trying to pull the battery out not realizing it had a push tab tray on it. Saw your video, now feel pretty stupid seeing how simple it is to remove, lol. Also, I'd like to give props to you for literally taking time to reply to every message on your videos. Most people ignore questions. Very refreshing to see a guy who cares about his viewers. Got a new sub here... Thanks for the videos...
always welcome and thanks for sub. any time you have questions feel free to write. no use being a creator if you do not reply to your fan and followers. Have fun buddy. remember to fly it like you stole it hahahaha
Great video as always very informative, cant wait to get one. As you mentioned on the blade grips my only concern would be how strong the mechanism would have to be to lock them in place as they are under tons of stress when spinning.
Well i saw the finished version. i hope to visit flywing factory and bring you an update later. that lock, is like spring loaded. so once you twist, it will lock and due to outward force on each blade the piece is going to stay strong on. it will make life even easier to pack, store and transport this helicopter safely
@@alishanmao It's about time someone took the blade grips on a heli to the next level . DJI has spoiled me with the quick change props on the drones , lol.
@@alishanmao do you know when they will release the quick change grips my mom is going to order this heli for my senior high school graduation but I’m wondering when they will come out so maybe they will include it with the heli so it’s not a Extra cost
Hi Alishanmao. I love your videos and your personality comes shining though too. Your videos inspired me to get back into RC helis so I bought a Flywing Airwolf which is beautiful. You inspired the love of flying again in me. This is a beautiful heli and a joy to fly. A couple of things have happened with my Airwolf. The tail motor had come off the body mid-flight. After inspection I found they only had one screw instead of two to secure the tail motor to the body. Flywing were great and they send me a new tail rotor and tail blades. After putting it in in, i found another similar screw to both ends of the tail motor to the body and then used clear nail polish to stop the screws vibrating loose-so far so good. Secondly, and this is where I need your expertese, just yesterday my Airwolf starts like normal but as soon as I gradually lift off the helicp[ter slightly lifts off the ground, then lands quickly due to the main rotor losing revs. The transmitter has no effect on it. I have had the heli for 3 months and it has given me so much joy but unsure how to fix this. Any ideas? Thanks for the inspiration always, Mark from Australia😀
Hi bud. thank you for your support to my work. try to connect it to Assist program and if there is any error it will show it and you can fix it. disable low battery voltage RTH. check your main gear as well. maybe its loose or ripped? are there any abnormal sounds? best to make a video and post in GPS RC Helicopters group and you can get more advise from others too. facebook.com/groups/gpshelicopters
My wife my lady is the Type one diabetic for 42 years we are together, I have had Shlluther Hely Baby and medical expenses all my married life! I love this chopper but can not afford it any more. You are smart and lucky person if you can afford this advanced RC unit. Thank You for knowing what you are doing man.
keep up the good hopes, one day you will have it all man. you never know. sometimes we who have all this, arrive at a point where we have to give up what we have and start over. we are going through that now. but its life, and its all good as long as family is together, thats important
Thanks again for your thorough, complete and professional breakdown of the new v.3. Without your videos, wouldn’t have to dig down for that extra $500. for this (my third FW 450)! Hey, “you can’t take it with you”; right? You are the best!
Ali,I would like to share my experience with you,I purchased and received the V3 canopy only, the box it came in was slightly crushed, the canopy was well packed in foam, well the canopy was damaged, evidently the V3 canopy consists of four pieces, the two sides snap to the top and the single nose piece that snaps to the sides,it does come all snapped together, well the damage broke all the tabs on one side so I had to epoxy it back together,so if the canopy broke in shipping and well packed what would a crash do ? would it be too difficult for Fly Wing to make the canopy one piece and the Nose piece as is ? By the way I mounted the V3 canopy to my FW 450 V2.5 It looks Awesome, but the canopy could be constructed better.
Hello ALI,thank you for all the advanced information on the FW450 V3. With the new 450 do we still have to do the same calibration each time we fly. any idea what the estimated cost will be.Thank you for all your detailed videos and happy to see your young sons flying.
always welcome buddy. You just need to do calibration once (before the very first flight) after that no. I actually calibrated my new Bell 206 flywing, in their factory, then I flew it in two different cities. without any issues :)
Hi Ali, with the new quick release blades for this heli does this means that we will just need to dp these 3 steps to replace a damaged canopy? Step 1) Quick release the blades Step 2) Unplug GPS cable Step 3) Unscrew the 4 screws that hold the main body canopy Is this all correct?
Hey Ali you and a couple others have broken the gps. Is FW aware of this? If you break and have to replace, do you need to recalibrate? I’m going to be really cautious when I take canopy off.
Great video! Could you help me to solve an issue ? I 've just receive my Flywing H1 controller that I will install on my T-rex 470. I want to control my helicopter with my Spektrum NX 10. My question is, I need first to create a new model, I have plane , helicopter or drone model, which one I must select ? I've seen some people on RU-vid who select plane model othets select drone model. Very confused ! Franck from France
I would love to know when they complete testing and add that last GPS feature that you mentioned. To auto-GPS mode when doing manual 3D. I am guessing that will just be a software update, however it showed no way to update the firmware or anything. So I am wondering if you have to buy the heli AFTER they update the firmware OR is there a way to download the upgrade to the remote or GPS module.
Awesome heli - looks like they finally designed an rc helicopter that I can fly lol That said, do you know if there is any way to get these types of features into older model helicopters? I have a 700 that I have never flown, for fear that it will be too much to handle for my less than reputable skills, and so I was hoping a receiver or GPS unit might come along that would allow me to fly my beloved 700 with confidence instead of fear. - love your channel btw, I've lost interest in rc's these past years, but this heli has peaked my interest - thanks for all the great channel and video's over the years
You are always welcome. Yes if you Install H1 GPS controller you can fly your helicopters without issues and with new 1.9 upgrade you can even do auto 3D
I am a little 'put-off' by the switch to composite material for the blade grips in the new V3 edition. Just a 'quality' kind of thing. But I guess I can now even more consider upgrading to tne newly released easy removable blade grip system, which is of course all aluminum. AND a very nice design by the way. Seems well thought through and engineered. Congrats. Hope the dis-assembly/re-assembly will be straight forward. I assume it comes pre-assembled so it only requires the removal of one srew and two ball lever arms and then swapping out the the whole rotor head. would be a nice teaching video for people who are less technically versed, but stll not all thumbs (pun intended for us thumb/stick flyers).
Thank you for comment. that quick release blade system was my design that flywing produced. i gave them ideas in detail when i met them at their factory and happy to see that did produce it very well. Right now i am in thailand so i can't do the tutorial but once i get back, I will sure do the swap to my airwolf for quick release. which is infact a V3 inside. but again its super easy. the new quick release system that you will order, will be a complete unit that will fit in place of the older part. so its probably just one screw to remove the older rotor head and put in the new one, tighten the screw, install blades in quick release and use.
Campaign is going for 20 days and after that It will be available for delivery. No idea for price In euro but for sure price will be higher than the price in campaign
There seems to be some confusion on what version of the H1 comes installed in the V3 Helicopter. Your video shows that it has the "H1 Lite" version. Do all V3 helicopters come from the factory with the "H1 Lite" version?
yes all these RTF PNP scale helis and 450 V2, 2.5, V3 have Lite version. H1 full version only for sale stand alone so people can install those in their own helis
Fantastic video and I am now subscribing to your channel, I have bought the FW450v3 and is on its way. I was wondering if I bought the electronics from this heli could I put them on my Blade 550x which has only the motor and servos fitted?
I do not think so. you can't use these on other helis. 550 is a bigger size than this one. but again if you are willing to take risks, its worth a try. Thanks for the sub and welcome to the Channel
@@alishanmao oh yes I forgot that the FW450 has an electric motor on the tail and the Blade 550 has a mechanical unit, but thank you for your reply and excellent channel.
Hi, why not design snap-in bolts to replace the screws to hold the main rotor blades instead of removable blade grips? That seems safer to me and far easier to design and maintain. Great presentation as always.
That's also an idea but need to see what size bolts to design and if needed to increase diameter of hole on blades too then it's much more costly to reproduce blades
Quick-release/detachable main rotor blades/blade holders? *YIKES!* The centrifugal forces involved in a helicopter's main rotor would put a lot of strain on a quick-release system, causing it to fatigue prematurely. One (or both) blades _will_ become airborne shuriken as they seperate from the main rotor hub when it happens. Nice idea in theory, however dangerous (potentially _deadly)_ in practice.
Sorry buddy, but i disagree. we know all this. we know the cetrif forces. I saw the parts while i was at flywing factory and i can assure you, we worked together on this idea and flywing developed it with proper engineering. once it locks on, there is no way blade will fly out. unless blade breaks itself, which does not happen. even if you crash, you will break the blade but part will only come out when human hands will work the mechanism. stay tuned for video update. I will be trying the parts soon they give me the prototype.
Great video Ali. Is it necessary to do a Calibration on a computer before it is flow? Are any different canopy colors coming out soon. What is the type of battery connector is used and finally is their a manual available online?
Another question for you Ali, On my 2 yr old H1 System on my Trex 470L Heli, the GPS module is mounted.4.5 inches away from the H1 unit down on the boom. I see that the GPS module on the FW450LV3 Is a lot smaller and is mounted almost on top of the H1 unit, Will the new smaller GPS module work with my 2 yr. old H1 unit. and can I mount it as close as the one on the FW450LV3 making it easier to get the C of G right and making for a neater Heli. cheers.
@@alishanmao do you have a link to the fly wing help line, I can't seem to find it, or could you ask them, you will get more sense out of them than me, LOL. cheers
@@alandurden1826 flywing is going to release the new GPS for use with older H1 systems soon. they have designed and made the shells as well. so wait for it. its coming soon
Hi Ali. My new FW450L Bell 206 NEVER flew stably. I upgraded to 1.9 software. Set to scale flying with one button. It got better. Increased stability to 75%. Some stability but after 5 seconds acts again like GPS stopped working. So it crashed. Ordered parts for broken links and wood base. I suspect the GPS is defective. Will upgrading to the FW450L V3 GPS help? I don't dare take hands off transmitter, it will just fly away in some direction as if no gyro at all. Become uncontrollable. While it is down I'm flying Goosky Legend 2 and OMPHOBBY M2 which fly great.
On my FW 450 V3 I swapped the blade head to the quick release blade head, After I swapped it I now get a wicked tail whip when returning from inverted flight. It never did that with the original head. How would I fix that?
From 19:12 on the video, you explained FlyWing are working on a automatic failsafe system when flying in manual 3D, saving the helicopter from crashing from x feet from the ground. The first question was in reference to that, any news? Thanks
Great review and detail! I wonder if there is room to add a motor heatsink to help cool the motor when using a 5s or 6s battery. Any thoughts on that or do you think it has room for it? I would assume that the balance wouldn't be an issue when using GPS mode and it wouldn't add much weight to the unit.
Hi Ali - can yoi do me a favour? I crashed my FW450 and now its all back together but the plug under the tail boom came out (RC in) can you tell me if it goes on the left (servo) or right? Thanks
I, please I need your help on my flywing 4502.5, I have a crash replace the main motor now the main blade is rotating in wrong direction what could cause the problem any solution , thanks.
Hello friend, could you please tell me the FCC ID and the manual for this model, because to buy this product in my country I need to approve it first and I depend on these two documents.
Hi I, I’m Steve Lee from Singapore I love all your videos but I cannot find the websites to buy,may I know where to buy this rc helicopter please? Thank you very much, please tell me what website I can buy the FW450L V3 GPS RC Helicopter thank you very very very much. 😊 😊 😊
hey buddy, right now its on pre orders via kickstarter campaign. you can book one now and get it once campaign finishes and they start shipping. later prices will be much more high. link in video description
someone updated their h1 on 450 V2 and now his V2 can do everything like my V3 :D try the new V1.9 assist program but if you mess up the settings, remember its do it at your own risk hahaha. or wait for me to post the best settings later
