Agreed. As someone that moved into his district in 2021 - and as someone that is still here after he left - I got really used to having to call him on his lies. He claims that then A.G. Harris had a close race when she actually won by more votes (2.8 million) and got more total votes (7.5 million) than any prior candidate in the history of that seat. To top it off, she also got a higher percentage of the votes (61.6%) than any candidate since 1926. But math was never former Speaker McCarthy’s strong suit.

Yeah, as someone that lived in his district starting 2021 and (unlike him) is still here, I can say that he repeatedly failed to acknowledge reality every time my fiancée or I contacted his office. We couldn’t even get him to speak out when the V.A. was facing an influx of bad faith calls to try to tie up the phone lines. There’s a sign in our town that says we honor veterans - but McCarthy sure had a funny way of showing it.

Exactly. I moved into his district in 2021 and he was the weakest and most cowardly representative I ever had in Congress. I couldn’t get his office to try to stop attacks on the V.A. so I can’t say I’m surprised that he can’t count either. Kamala Harris won her Senate seat in 2016 by getting more votes than any other candidate in the history of that seat (7.5 million) and with a margin of more votes than any other election for that seat (2.8 million votes). On top of that, she got the highest percentage of the vote for the seat since 1926. But I guess McCarthy doesn’t care about being right now that he’s out of office. He certainly wasn’t any good at doing the right thing when he represented me.
