MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE END before trying this. Its unusably stiff. I've been trying to find anything to raise it up a tiny bit, and just on the rear (before i knew how bad it would be) tried the rear crossmember bolt holes which were very similar to this. it just makes it waaayyy too stiff. there is NO FLEX or give if you try what this video shows or what i did.
I realized that after making this, obviously it can be tweaked better than what I did, there are more aftermarket suspension options for this truck out there now. Thanks for watching
Nice man. I have the FMS LC80 and trying to figure out the shock placement is tough because of the frame mounted servo. Try shocks and links from the trx4m. Maybe the 48mm shocks for the 1/24 and just use a spacer so the shocks can flex at the bolt, since you have to get rid of the ball joint screw.
I have the same 2 rig, glacier and FMS hilux hahahahha, iconverted the glacier to rcawd 34T motor and transmission and latest FMS electronics and transmitter, also oil filled shocks and heavy wheels with larger tires
I don't discuss personal taste, but for me you have ruined the aesthetics of it. The classic scaler style has been lost. I don't understand why you bought a scaler if you wanted to make it into something else different, losing the most important feature of that FMS model, which is aesthetic fidelity and realism. Also, and it shows in your video at minute 11:57, you lost the realistic softness of the rear shock by changing the angle of attack of the shock. Now it is certainly harder and bouncier, and you can see this when you push down on the rear. In fact it does not lower, and the tires deform under the weight of your push before the suspension movement begins. By raising it a little less you could have gained ground clearance (without overdoing it), avoiding changing the angle of attack of the rear suspension so much so as not to make it too hard without losing its aesthetics and retaining its good realistic damping. Mine is meant to be a constructive criticism, it is not my intention to offend anyone but only to discuss about your work. Take care buddy
