Commenting for everyone debating about Cassidys gender: Does it really matter? Fighting about a fictional characters gender? People have their own opinions, you can't change that. Besides, is arguing about Cassidy helping your grades/work/whatever you do? No. Is it saving anyone? No again. I don't care what you think their gender is but don't hate or try to correct someone because they have a different view. Can't we all just appreciate the fact that this cool thing was made? Hey I looked up the name Cassidy and we all know that Scott does not fuck around when naming characters and he does a lot of research into name and Cassidy is a unisex name so yeah we don't know if Cassidy is a boy or a girl I think they're a girl just because of the image in the security logbook but hell do we even know that Cassidy it could be someone else like Charlie the puppet was there and yeah Charlie has brown hair but black and brown are similar colors innit? "Cassidy is a girl" I'd like to bring up the cowboy Butch Cassidy. And the over watch character, Cole Cassidy. Formerly known as Jesse Mcree.

Despite you seeing Cassidy as a boy, I am still going to refer to Cassidy as female, solely due to the fact that I'm used to this. As it hasn't been confirmed, despite what others may say(regarding voice lines from numerous who reference The One He Shouldn't Have Killed), two other theories are potentially possible. The animatronics who refer to him as male may be referencing the suit. Also, it has been confirmed through numerous Fazbear Fright books(which Scott had a hand in, so they are cannon) that there are at least 4 souls possessing Goldie. Evan, Cassidy, and two others. William never killed Evan, that was Mike. The three others were killed by Afton, however. There may be more killed by one of the other two, but again, not killed by Afton. This also knocks out the one who killed other teenagers, making them possess Goldie. This leaves Cassidy, who may be male or may be female but being called him is the suit, or it may be the fourth child. As such, I can understand you saying Cassidy is a boy, even if I personally see Cassidy as female.

I’m pretty sure Cassidy is definitely a he, considering the ucn lines along with the animatronics saying “he is the one you shouldn’t have killed”. Though people are still saying that it’s not Cassidy they are talking about. I’m not complaining btw but they literally give it away and puts the evidence right in your face, I hope everyone doesn’t find this like I’m trying to argue. I know you said it’s your AU and all of that… But Cassidy is 100% a girl, both in game lore and in book lore. The Fourth Closet says Cassidy is a girl and we see Cassidy in the Security Logbook, which is canon to the games, since it has Mike’s name in it, so yes, it has been confirmed that Cassidy is a girl. What hasn’t is wether or not she, CC or Andrew is the vengeful spirit. But again, it’s your AU, so you do you.
