William is, by word of God, Springtrap. Mike is inferred to be Michel Afton, the oldest son of the Afton family and pretty much deciding to go back after doing one last job to rebuild his dearest sister to simply making sure that daddy dearest won't kill more kids and will kill him for his crimes. Probably why he stayed in the trap in the end, to make SURE it was DONE.

Heres my explanation: In this ending, the secret purpose of rounding all the animatronics up there is revealed, and they are all burned to a crisp. However, while that may seem like a simple ending, there is more hidden to it. At the end of the last night, Baby says that they were all rounded up there for a "gift". However, Cassette Man cuts Baby's communications, and reveals her true name was Elizabeth, giving a name to William Aftons daughter. He says that they are not here to receive a gift, and that they were not called by the man they assume, but they were called. The man Elizabeth assumes called everyone was her father, William Afton, but it was not. They were lured into a labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize. They endlessly search and lust for blood, but they will never find anything. Next, Cassette Man mentions that an escape from the fire was planned for you, but he says he thinks you'd prefer staying there. He also mentions he will be staying too, and he is nearby. This means that Cassette Man most likely knows you personally, or has gotten to know you, and assumes from his experiences with you. This leads me to believe that you are playing as Michael Afton, the worn out husk that Ennard left behind. But, Im not 100% on that, so dont take it as fact. He also mentioned that the job wasn't intended for you, but for someone else. I can't find any clues as to who the job was supposed to be given to, but nonetheless you fulfilled the plan. He says that nothing will be remembered, and the tragedy can finally end, like every tragedy should. Next, Cassette Man talks about the animatronics, calling them "monsters". He tells them to be still and calm, and to give up their spirits. This means that he's telling the suits to kick out the spirits controlling them, so they can be free. He says that the spirits will find peace, and maybe more beyond bloodlust and vengeance. Cassette Man then talks about a certain animatronic-- presumably Springtrap judging by when the picture of him burning appears-- as soon as he starts talking about it. He tells him that the deepest pit of hell has opened up to swallow him, and wishes him a dark farewell. The reason Cassette Man does not want him to find peace is most likely because his identity is William Afton. Because of this interaction towards William, It seems safe to assume Cassette Man might be Henry. This is further enforced as Cassette Man calls William "friend", likely suggesting they had past experience, namely working together in business. Now, time to explain why Henry might have a grudge against William. Cassette Man speaks about his daughter, saying that it was only natural for her to come here. He talks about how his daughter was "shut out" and wasn't lifted in someones arms like she lifted others in hers. While he talks about this, pictures of the diner minigame where you could see a crying child waiting outside pop up, suggesting the crying child is Cassette Mans daughter. Next, a picture of a child-- presumably dead, laying in a dark alleyway, forgotten. Cassette Man asks what became of you-- a rhetorical question. What became of her was the Puppet. He says that he knew his daughter wouldn't be content to dissapear, and that he couldn't save her then, so he's going to save her now-- by freeing her spirit and letting her be free when the smoke clears. Cassette Man mentioned earlier that her daughter lifted others in her arms, and eventually a picture of the Puppet minigame "Give Gifts, Give Life" appears, enforcing the fact his daughter only wanted to help others. Then he says that its time to rest, for his daughter and for the ones she carried in her arms, enforcing the fact he wants them to rest and find peace. The last thing he says is that it ends for all of us, and the communication ends. Fazbear Entertainment is no longer a thing, its unclear whether or not you survived the fire (although its likely you died) and the story ends. TL;DR: You and cassette man worked together to burn down the place, and free all the souls except for William/Springtrap who Henry wants to burn in hell, because Williams first victim was his daughter
nah man best explanation i've seen. And yes, Michael does die permanently since it was Baby's (Elizabeth) promise keeping him alive, and now her spirit is freed he is also freed, allowing him to finally die.

FNaF is a scary game but the storyline of the game is very sad The poor kids being restless spirits possessing animatronics just to get revenge on a person who killed them

Oh. I thought he said “For most of you I believe there is peace, and perhaps war waiting for you after the smoke clears” because the part where he says ‘war’ is when an image of Molten Freddy comes up, and the spirits who controlled Molten Freddy kicked out Baby, so...I thought it made sense.
There’s gonna be one last game regarding golden Freddy and the rest,this was the end of the series for the Afton/puppet/murdering kids saga,the next will be the happiest day saga or something like that
I think the cassette man (the guy who's talking in the cutscene) is Henry. Because all we know that William Afton, Michael Afton, and Elizabeth (before she died and possessed Ennard) have British Accents, and in The Silver Eyes, Henry was only a friend of William. Then William killed Henry's daughter who then possessed The Marionette, that eventually took in the other dead kids souls and gave life to the original 4 animatronics in the first Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria, and then she did the same to the Toy animatronics in the second pizzeria, and then the same in the FNAF 1 pizzaria. Then when she was inside Fazbears Fright when it burnt down, she managed to escape and continued to give life to animatronics, but then Henry stopped her by putting her inside of Lefty, who he then got Michael to salvage, along with Scrap Baby (possessed by Elizabeth), Molten Freddy (Ennard with a Nightmarish Funtime Freddy face), and Springtrap (after he survived the fire). And then a Henry burnt down the pizzaria with him and Michael inside aswell, freeing the souls of Elizabeth, whoever possessed Molten Freddy, Michael's soul, and his own soul. AND also sent William finally to the Pit Of Hell. So this pretty much ends the Afton Family
Watch the Game Theory on it, and yes, Henry is the Cassette Man. He literally calls the Puppet "My daughter" and Henry's daughter possessed the Puppet.

I have a theory/headcanon that William was normal before the events of FNAFSL. After all, he shared the "She can make ice cream" with the other man. I wouldn't tell someone my murder weapon, so I think it was sposed to work normally. But something malfunctioned in Baby with Elizabeth. Bill is crushed by his daughter's death. In revenge, he takes Charlotte Emily, his coworker's daughter. It's small, but I think it could really open up some new theories.

RIP FNaF 2014 - 2018 “I will make you proud,Daddy” No but seriously this was the first game I had permanently liked since I heard of it. I remember back in 2014 when I was like 10 or 9 I heard of the music then the game. Since then I have been sticking with this game. It’s hard to see this franchise end. I hope Scott makes some spin-offs or a 3rd book. I’m honestly super sad right now. But I’m just gonna say this:Scott Cawthon. Thank you for making this amazing game called FNaF which later was followed by FNaF 2,3,4,SL And now 6. You have entertained us all and you are one of the best persons in the world. I am excited to see what you have planned in there future.
Fnaf 1 ending, eh… Fnaf 2 ending, eh… Fnaf 3 ending, one of the best endings ever. Fnaf 4 ending, WAS THAT THE BITE OF 87?! Fnaf sister location ending, we’re dead so… Fnaf 6 ending, the best ending in Existence.
This is what I think FNaF 1 - 3 is like "The missing Children" chapter FNaF 4 and Sister Location is like "The Aftons" Chapter FFPS/FNaF 6 is like "This time, it will end" chapter Then FNaF VR, and AR came out, which is like "He is back, now with a damn cult" Chapter

this ending has made me ACTUALLY CRY. while i like security breach, i really, really, REALLY wish that vanny had been the new antagonist. no afton, let him suffer in GODDAMN HELL. 1-UCN, i feel like those should be the mainline games (excluding FNaF world) and the rest can have lore, but be set in a different universe, or be just to have fun and enjoy the games. because GODDAMNIT an ending that made me cry because it was so powerful, so perfect, should be allowed to be the ENDING. wait… now that i think about it- ok, hear me out, what if the fanbase just bands together and refuses to except everything after UCN (or FFPS, if you dont believe UCN to be aftons hell) as mainline canon. just stories for happy funtime. i believe fnaf 6 is actually not the end of FNAFs story, but might be the end of the games if you remember, when you completed golden freddy mode in sister location, springtrap (michael afton) was sitting in a burned down place the truth is probably that it wasnt fazbears fright it was your pizzeria in this game michael mentions that "they were all there", implying that all his other animatronic buddies were there- rounded up to be burned to a crisp. he also mentioned that william, his father told him to go there. remember how cassette man said that "you were not called here by the man you assume, although you have, indeed been called"? Michael thought William (his father) called him there, but it wasnt actually him. michael mentions he "put her back together". im still not solid on this, but its probably mentioning Elizabeth, williams daughter who is controlling the Baby animatronic. next, the building burns down, and everyone except him is gone. after all, the springtrap suit did have a tendency to survive fires. now that he is the only one left, his only desire now is to find his father. tell me if you believe this, or have a different explanation im not big on FNAF anymore but this is a solid theory.
If you take every character (letters, periods, spaces. etc.) in the Cassette Man's soliloquy, the amount of characters present is 1998. Minus the space at the end, you get 1997. Coincidence? Or clue?
I'm seeing a lot of confused people in the comments, so I'm just going to explain everything that happens here. (I got all of this information from Game Theory): Cassette Man is Henry. William Afton's (Purple Guy) old partner. Afton's first murder was Henry's daughter, who's soul possessed the Puppet. Elizabeth (the daughter of Afton) was murdered by Baby and so her soul went into Baby. Ennard turned into Molten Freddy. YOU are Michael Afton, brother of Elizabeth and son of Afton. Afton's soul is inside of Springtrap. In FNaF 3, when Afton was cornered by the spirits of the kids he murdered, he hid inside of the Golden Bonnie suit (the suit he used to murder the kids). The spring-locks inside the suit killed him. Henry (in an attempt to get revenge for his daughter) trapped Afton's dead body in the walls of the soon to be Fazbear Fright. Years later, Fazbear Fright opens. An employee accidentally set Afton free, as he now goes on as Springtrap. At the end of FNaF 4 when Michael 'dies' from the Bite of 83, in the ending scene when Fredbear says to Michael "I will put you back together", that is Afton talking to his son in the hospital. Afton is being serious when he says "I will put you back together". He literally puts Michael back together as a robot using remnant, the same thing that makes the animatronics alive. Michael then goes on to become the FNaF 1 night guard (Mike Schmidt), the Sister Location night guard (That's how you don't die from the scooping), & the FNaF 6 night guard. The only way to kill an animatronic (to destroy the remnant) is to burn it. And so in this scene, Michael is finally dead as the fire burns out his remnant. Now, let's get to what actually happens here. The original five animatronics (Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, & Golden Freddy) were all put to rest in the "Happiest Day" mini-game in FNaF 3. That only remained the Puppet, Baby, Ennard, & Springtrap. Henry wanted to finally get revenge on Afton for his daughter, so he hired Michael to build this pizzeria, but secretly the pizzeria was a trap. This is why you need to salvage all the animatronics to get this ending. Henry wants you to salvage them so they come into the pizzeria. The pizzeria then sets on fire and you, Henry, & the animatronics all burn finally setting their souls free, except Afton. When Henry says "The darkest pitt of hell", he means it. Afton is sent into Ultimate Custom Night, where he goes through the non-stop torture from the animatronics he created. And that's the end of FNaF, really. Scott will probably pull some bullcrap and use something like "It was all a dream" but in my opinion this was a PERFECT ending for FNaF. I wanted to make a challenge for myself, so this is my take on the FNaF timeline (of the games). This is FOR SURE not accurate, as this whole game series timeline is confusing as hell, but this is my take on it. If you want an accurate timeline, I would suggest watching the Game Theory video on it. OLDEST Five Nights at Freddy's 4 - End of Michael Afton's human chapter, he becomes a robot Five Nights at Freddy's 2 - I do not believe Michael was the guard here. The "Withered" animatronics are not from FNaF 1, but are actually from the "old" location from BEFORE FNaF 2 as said by the phone guy. Five Nights at Freddy's 1 - Mike Schmidt (Michael Afton) is the guard here. Not much else to say. Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location - Michael searches for Baby (Elizabeth, his sister) in William Afton's underground animatronic rental place. Five Nights at Freddy's 3 - Michael picks up the job as security guard here in search of finding father, Springtra- William Afton. Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator - The end of the FNaF storyline - Everyone burns Ultimate Custom Night - The "darkest part of hell" Henry was referring to. Afton now has to be terrorized by his own creations. NEWEST

It would've been truly better if it was just "Five Night's at Freddys" and then the credits and then "The End" to signify it's the ending of the story as we see the graves it would've been truly a better ending then what we have gotten with security breach
Before a certain point I always thought that Elisabeth was the name of Henry's daughter but after some brainstorming I decided to go to this video and listen. Then I understood that I was wrong and Elisabeth was actually William's daughter's name. Feels kinda awkward now
Michael is not a springtrap, he's just a ghoul walking around in the shadows, he'll only be alive as long as Elizabeth was, now that she's gone, he will die and rest like the others, I think he's haunting Molten Freddy but I'm not entirely sure

Candybot's story!!! The woman with the five keys is the puppet!! The puppet tried to bring back all five of the children, but ended up with the key to five deaths instead of the key to one life!! And the reason that the character you're playing as, Michael, doesn't leave the pizza place when it catches on fire is because he's basically just a rotting flesh sac who shouldn't be alive anyways!!!!
