Even if this was a joke, the animation actually seemed to fit more life than the movie's arcade segment, this is much better because it also openly shows what was happening and it shows that William sees this like a game.

i love this entire animation, the physical art right before it starts is so cool, but i just need to say how much i love specifically the balloons at 2:19 . theyre so simple yet when i watched this the first time, they gave me genuine chills. 2:32 and the eyes at 2:44 gave me chills tbh. all in all, great animation, while i get why they went for what they did for the actual movie, if it had this instead, i would not have been complaining oops essay comment mb

I agree. Though I don’t hate the original, I love how the sprites of the children here are more expressive than the ones used in the actual opening.
