Oh wow, i almost forgot about this game, i am surprised you enjoyed the game cause back when i played this i was just bored out of my mind lol, like the game is too simple for it's own good, which would be fine if this was a game jam game like it initially was, but it's not. And yeah as you said, the only times you can really die is if the game bugs out. Anyway congrats on beting this mode, for what i consider to be a bore fest lol.
