Personally I think tanooki Mario being large like that makes him look significantly more menacing/better, but it makes sense it was cut as it may of taken away from Ultra M’s large appearance in the next part of the song.
The only reason OMEGA (that's the Tanooki Mario's actual name) seems smaller in his official sprites is because he's far from BF. If he were right in front of BF, he would be almost exactly the same size as Ultra M.

at 3:19, the screenshot might be real since there was actually a wega song scrapped for the v2 release, it was scrapped cuz the original creators of wega and some mods didnt like the song and tought it wasnt funny (even tho in my opinion it was), the only thing found was the audio, the bar and the lyrics, the rest (characters, background) was gone, some ppl like dewoot gamerrr remade those and filmed them as an actual song, hope all that information was helpful
