Ok so I feel this one needs a bit of context so that ppl aren't confused; shortly after Prey was scrapped from the mod, me and a few others on the team pushed for its re-inclusion, and the team agreed to save it for Update 3.0 (which would have come out some time after 2.5, which was the upcoming update). Since the og was already public online, we decided to ramp up the song a bit, including more voicelines and giving me a chance to improve (imo) mixing and retooling the instrumental a bit. I may or may not try doing something with this for something in the future, but i hope you guys enjoy regardless

I really like the little fake out with furnace "dying" (Or,powering down? Seriously he just kind of floats offscreen) only to cut off Sonic at the very end,alot of people I've seen say that it was his cockiness that got him killed,which makes complete sense because he's so busy taunting Starved he doesn't see Furnace in front of him. Song's a banger too.

@@gaspardsavoureux8680 starved just sounds like a more powerful furnace, tbh I kinda would prefer if furnace got refueled by eggman mid song and as a result went pretty much all out but it kinda makes sense, eggman realized the only way to beat sonic was to spit *fire* bars and rap against him so it makes sense that he'd want to do it himself instead of relying on a machine to do the work for him. Of course being eggman he thought ahead and told furnace to go ahead of sonic and ambush him further on.

@@TrainsAreReallyCool yeah. its sad that it got shelved, but I had a talk with one of the devs in a VRChat lobby and they were saying that "It felt more like a chore and a job rather than working on a fun project with friends" along with the constant leaks from the mod, it's sad to the demise that had fell upon it, but all hope isn't lost. There will still be different smaller .EXE mods being made by Saster and a few others, but that's for the future. sorry for rambling lol, just wanted to give a full scope.

My problem with starved getting his own game is the origin story. In concept it’s a creepy idea, a deranged eggman that goes on a killing spree and eats his victims is scary, however, the way it’s executed is dumb. After his lab is blown up he just finds a bird on the floor and takes a bite out of it. It’s just so funny to me that he’s just like “oh look a bird! Time to eat it!” Maybe it could’ve been that he was out of food and he decided to start eating animals as a food source, that would’ve been a lot better.

The only problem in this version is Starved's voice, the other version is a bit clearer, also making it too distorted doesn't make sense fully, since Starved isn't like Lord X from what I read, and doesn't have distorting or 4th wall powers. Thou I do like the wet/blood-ish sounds you can kinda hear when he laughs. (whether it was intended or not)

I just realized that since the major plot of Starved's assault on Little Planet is so he can rewind time and eat everything all over again, that the line of dialogue before his segment implies that this is FAR from his first loop. And he savors Sonic's ignorance every single time. Almost as much as he does the main course.

Loved the original. I LOVE what you've done with this version! You barely changed the original thing, but added so much to it! The intro.... The instrumental sounds cleaner and better with what's added on! The vocals bend and sing beautifully! The new alarm sounds in the background..... And the new voices! Holy crap.... *Starved Eggman's new voice and his flesh cracking and breaking and squirming during his moment was ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING....* In sense, this is is a remix unto itself. XD Truly astounding work! Sounds more like the entire world is falling apart instead of just Starved and Furnace chasing Sonic down! A masterpiece! >:D

Honestly, I loved all the neat little additions and slightly changes but I feel that Starved Eggmans voice in the previous version was a lot better in the dialogue scenes then it is in this update. Its a lot slower and has way too many effects. I do love how the song stops for a bit before continuing again when hes ending his laugh though lol.

Something people don't understand is that furnace actually DIES at the end of prey furnace and sonic rammed into eachother causing a explosion killing both of them in the process. This explains why in fight and flight sonics corpse isn't cooked because furnace isn't there and why furnace isn't battling tails

It’s true of both versions, but I adore all of the instrumentation here. The weird vocals in the back, the droning alarms, this feels like it honestly could’ve been a high octane boss theme in CD. And I adore that

With the intro dialogue, it finally explains that this song didn't take place after Amy gets killed in front of Sonic (maybe that never happened in the mod) which is why Sonic seems "overconfident, out of character" in the 1.0 version

ahh i see i read most of the lore through the prey 1.0 vid and most people were saying starved and furnace encounter sonic and amy on stardust speedway and after they fought, amy got shoved into furnace's oven and cooked alive in front of sonic, then he ran away as starved and furnace chase after him, eventually getting him too

Man feels like Starved's lore was so all over the place that I don't even see a general opinion on how Amy died and got cooked alive, all I see is: Died infront of Sonk after getting captured, Cooked Immediately after she's captured and outta Sonk's sight, Died at the Speedway, etc... To me she was probably cooked alive and Sonic didn't know because he thought this was just Eggman being Eggman because he literally mocks him in the song. Also CD Sonic seems a bit too outta character if he literally saw Amy fucking die and lose focus of the threat that you don't hear him flying under you and see him in front of you so that's something. Seems like something Modern Sonic would do over CD Sonk honestly.

If i’m being honest furnace saying “TARGET SPOTTED.” makes furnace feel like an actual robot and i like that. It gives furnace more robot-like characteristics. And the fact sonic mentions smelling smoke makes the song more life-like. Overall i like this version of prey and even though it only has some quotes added i still find it interesting. 10/10

I too agree. Chasing down sentient creatures who can speak and think independently with human intelligence and as much rights as humans with a large Furnace that will ram into you and cook you alive so that someone who ate all your friends can feast on your eyes and organs is very humane and morally correct.

I had seen a comment on here asking why Sonic didn’t question Starved’s appearance, and I wanted to reply my answer but couldn’t find the comment to do it so here it is. Eggman changed uniforms at some point, but Sonic didn’t care one bit, it was still Eggman. So as far as Sonic was concerned, Starved was still Eggman, and thus, his (Sonic’s) goal was to stop him at all costs. That’s my theory anyway.
