We have changed the lower back panel to all molle webbing, that way you can attach the original 2 quart canteen holder to the molle for a way better fit, then run the straw over your shoulder... sorry ill get out of your comments lol

How many do you typically stock? Obviously we should order as soon as they pop up on the 24th but just curious as to how many of these you’re selling at a time. I’m a logistics guy and I wish we could GPC these for our property book. That way Soldiers can have a ruck packed to unit standard and ready to go with total confidence in what they have. As well as having the training ruck set up so that you can track week by week of progressive overload. The heavier you can go in training with a stable load, the less likely you’ll get injured carrying a lighter (35-65) lbs ruck while actually going on an op or to selection.

@grittysoldier. An army vet your videos inspired me last year to start rucking again. Yesterday for 22 strong in honor of veteran suicides I did 22 miles in 6 hours and 3 minutes. Pack was between 20 and 25 lbs. Walking slow today 😂. Thanks for the motivation and shout out to my fellow vets!

I got the new Ruck Trainer. As an AT through hiker and participate in adventure challenges. I've always used a weighted vest and backpacks but the load has always been screwed up and uncomfortable. I'm prepping for the Pacific Crest trail and this thing has been so much better for me. Days I can't get out and hike, I can get on my treadmill, set my incline, strap on my ruck trainer and have at it. I completed a 31mile ruck last weekend with it carrying 40lbs (Joggin' for Frogmen). I attribute it partially to the FNG's ruck trainer. I knew how the straps would feel and how to adjust and it's super simple to set up and go. If you're serious about your hiking or training for SFAS, this is a no-brainer. I can say that because I've been in the Army and have been a long-haul hiker for 26yrs and I've tried every gimmick and tool I can find that can save weight, space and help improve my training and reduce risk of injury.

I purchased this on day one of round 2 and love how easy it is. I was using my actual ruck, but leaving it loaded in my car made it get moldy in the Florida humidity. It’s a game changer for those on the fly, but, you’re right, better to be specific.

For someone who is not training for any high-speed school and just ruck for endurance/toughness, this would be great. Packing the ruck correctly is a big pain in the ass most of the time, especially when you want a specific weight in it. I much prefer this brain-dead approach. Takes about a minute to set up and I'm good to go.
@johnlasseigne7676
@johnlasseigne7676 8 месяцев назад
I honestly think that keeping a ruck fully packed with the packing list from your given school of choice is a better practice. Be able to get what you need in the dark without unpacking everything. Think, getting blown out of a patrol base. Everything is inside of a wet weather bag. Practice driving your knee into softener items to pack tight. Remember your priorities or work in a patrol base so make sure the top of your ruck reflects this. You don't want to waste anytime in the patrol base. You will be digging in so don't forget the tool. Don't overlook iodine tablets and two quart canteens, camel backs are hard to fill in those little streams at Mackall. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED. The ruck is gonna suck regardless. Better to hard that bivy cover and get that hour of sleep than be miserable. There's a million other tips I wish I could remember.

As a tightwad I made a ruck trainer with a MOLLE2 frame and a 45 plate lashed down with cam buckle straps. Not modular in any way. Squeaks even with gorilla tape between the frame and plate. This is way nicer! I've probably done 500 miles in the last year with it. This is way more Gucci. Like it.

Before I enlisted back in 2012, I would go on 8 mile ruck 4 days a week with 80-100 pounds in a vietnam era rucksack with a metal frame and 2008 era army combat boots bought from an army navy store. I was going in as a 12B so I wanted to be as ready as possible, and my dad had been a 21B combat engineer during Desert Storm so he help me get ready for it. I was never more thankful I did it all once I made it to Fort Leonard Wood.

This is a great product. For non-prior service we can’t necessarily buy everything to pack it perfectly anyway. There is a market for this in hiking as well.

As said in the video ... I think does more than act as a substitute for a MOLLE ruck ... learning how the weight SHOULD be focused (high and center) is something that you learn through feel, trial and error. Practicing with this will help you learn how it should feel when you pack your ruck.

This would be good for us downunder. A long time ago we’d train out on the footpaths or in the bush with our packs filled up with our packing list and a steel pipe to simulate a rifle. Quite a lot of us had the cops called out because the civilians thought we looked sketchy as. The unit wasn’t happy when you took you packed pack out of the cage for training so most of us who were serious would buy a second pack. Unfortunate for one guy ended up getting charged for creating a public disturbance. That ended his chances of attempting selection as he had a criminal charge. I think had a frame like this with a weight plate visible would have mitigated the fallout. Maybe paint the weight plate in a high vis colour that would scream training. The 2qt canteen brings back memories of being in hot places and needing a lot of long sustainment trips. Was a lot of times I’d be carrying 2x 2qts, 2x1 qts and a camelback in the pack and then another 2x 1qts on my belt kit. Yeah that’s a lot of water but a week between re-sup was hectic.

Hey just watched your top 10 benefits to rucking video . What do you think of adding a sand bag ? I have 3 brutal force bags a 25-30 pound a 60 -75 pound and a 100-130 pound , the last one of course would be insane and you would not get far . Until I turn green and go HULK . But I have a 65-75 pound fill camelbak. Military issue .

So you would have to add water to the waist strap or on the top on the back I guess

I have wanted to get one of the vests with steel weights for years...and do some long walks carrying 50-100 pounds. I think I would not get far with more than 50 pounds but I still want to see what I can do just for my own curiosity. I do not know if I will do this though; my budget is limited and I might just do a calisthenics program and the product "Rip Stick" looks like a great upper body exercise option. RE this Ruck Trainer? It all looks well made and for people who can tolerate above 80 pounds this is probably a cheaper option than the vests with small weights. That weight is big! I looked up the prices of Tungsten bars; too spendy for me by far. But for a gym owner that doesn't mind spending say $5000 to $10,000 on Tungsten for a Ruck Hiking Club? Do your research but Tungsten is better because you can distribute the weight even better, and so much smaller weights because of the density. Also...LEK Pro Wrist and Ankle weights = again an option to distribute the weight beyond just your back.

Awesome video, appreciate your rucking content. I am training for 60 mile ruck at my military branch. We have to carry 10% of our body weight plus water and food. Being a 205 lbs guy, that's a 20lbs + water & food, so ~ 30lbs in total. For this exercise we are allowed to carry either a ruck, or a plate carrier. Would you suggest to go with a ruck or stick with a plate carrier? I am using agilite k19 with integrated backpack, thus spreading 30lbs evenly is not a problem, the only thing I am worried about with plate carrier is I won't have a waist strap and all the weight will be carried on shoulders.
