Bernie is one of a kind. Any educator can tell that DeVos knows very little about pedagogy and even less about public policy. If we can afford a revamped nuclear arsenal, then we can afford subsidies for childcare to help people get ahead. And as soon as education ceases to be a for-profit enterprise, costs will drop dramatically.

Charter schools are a lousy solution. That's an expert opinion, not a liberal or conservative one. Private schools have the ability to follow their own sets of rules and regulations for conduct and teachings and many times have a board that answer only to their donors and not the community they serve. As for "investments" she will be handling TAX DOLLARS. A tax is what working people pay every paycheck and must file for every year. That is your money, my money, your parents friends and family and neighbors money that she'll want to take from! AnonDeity Europe largely has free universities paid by there wealthy people and many of the big guys in the tech industry come from Europe. Linus Torvalds is a great example. no one wants to invest in our own citizens when we can poach educated workers from Europe who invest in their students educations. so sure, if you want to make sure immigration is high and abandon native born Americans. keep investing as little as possible in our people.
