You know a song is written well when there are so many interpretations of the lyrics for different listeners

This hits different when you know about FOALS lore and the fact that Yannis mom left him when he was a child so songs like blue blood (lyrics and music video), late night, and give it all talk about a lover, wanting to be loved back, overcome the loss of a loved one and parting ways with someone who used to be important in your life. Yannis used to have mommy issues, me too and that's why I love him.

This is my interpretation. Based on his clothes he's actually an adult but he feels like a nervous little kid as he try's to impress a girl/women he once knew. As I feel most guys get this way when they try to impress a girl they really like, very vulnerable.

The fact he is a Gryffindor makes it all that much more magical.

Wow that kid has a really mature voice. Kind of hard to believe he's singing this.

I absolutely adore this song. Brings a tear to my eye.

THE BASS!!

i heard this song in 2011 at a night bar and i still hear it and feel the same exact way when i first heard it.

This lyrics are just perfect, describe so nicely the feeling of being really in love of someone who literally came to change your world.

Swimming in the ever present depths of depression was never personified as well as the four minutes and 58 seconds of celebratory melancholy which just elapsed. Thank you Foals.

This music video and song could mean so many things: 1. His mom got an abortion and this kid is supposed to be like if he survived. 2. He is some kid confessing his love to his teacher. 3. It's an adult confessing his love, but he approached her like an innocent child. 4. This kid just found his biological mother after being adopted. The list could go on and on.

its been 10 years now, probably five since I know the band, and its the first time I see the video, I thought it be quite different as the song reminds me a sight of myself almost crying for the lyrics and my relationships problems, but its nice to watch this video and see the joy side of it, thanks @Foals

I surf youtube for good music and videos but time and time again I come back to this video. Why because it's absolutely what it's all about. Telling a story through music. And this song does that, with musicality and images that engage, draw you in and, for a few minutes, make you believe you're someone else, somewhere else. Can't beat that.

Cada vez que escucho Foals, se torna una de mis bandas favoritas... Si bien es cierto, recuerdo cuando sacaron el Antidotes, un álbum genial con mucha energía y que era fácil engacharse con el tracklist que nos ofrecían. Luego vino este álbum, Total Live Forever, que para aquellos que esperábamos un toque similar al Antidotes no fue muy "bueno"... Pero, considero, que el Total Live Forever es un disco que tienes que escuchar varias veces, y de a poco, para que te parezca fantástico. Lamentablemente, recién estoy amando a este álbum, a pesar de haberlo escuchado a meses de haber salido, debido a que "Holy Fire" se volvió, en lo personal, el mejor álbum de Foals y el cambio que nos ofrecen en su tercer álbum, se siente un poco en el Total Live Forever. Espero vengan a Perú.

This reminds me of an early version of myself, a boy who had many dreams and was so fearful, but had some hope in future. This boy is dead today. I guess this is why people have kids and cherish them. This feeling of innocence and hope and silliness.

Foals are simply a plesure to listen too

I discovered for myself the band of Foals back in 2007 in my native city of Kherson. Now I'm 30, and I'm trying hard to get into Ukrainian army not knowing anymore where and when life will kick me hard. It has already kicked me hard indeed. This song is bringing me to tears now as I'm far away from my home, my girlfriend and from that, what remains of my home town. Wish you all love. War fckng sux, never start it.
