These guys need an orchestra. This performance is amazing, but it’s so hard to get the grandeur of the studio version in a live performance, and all I can think about is how this amazing song deserves a choir of instruments and voices as expansive as the song itself.
The bass player from Everything Everything! Awesome. I wonder if him touring with Foals will influence any new material they work on going forward! Should every interesting.
Instead of the word "replace" I think we should all say that we couldn't think of anyone else who could fill the empty space that Walter left in the band ✌️
Such great visuals Foals I just adore your band and talent so unique and this song takes you on a voyage in the jungle of minds thoughts, with the literal writing and amazing rich instrumentals and excellent singing and beats throughout the whole song were novel and flowed effortlessly and were I am awed everytime you put out another album i really resonated with this albums vibe. This whole performance was outstanding!! I loved this locale for the recording sessions.provided great sound...enjoyed the whole set list immensely!!❤👏Bravo!!!
A damn legendary band for me! How do they even come up with this shit??? It’s so god damn catchy. They really killed this album. This song in specific has a sound that everyone can appreciate. Just as good if not better live. I gotta see y’all before I die.
Now the sea eats the sky But they say it's a lie And there's no birds left to fly We'll hide out Oh, the weather is against us Houses on the ground And flowers upside down In our dreams In the eye of the storm In the land where you were born We try to make no sound We hide out 'Cause they watch us in sleep And the language that we speak And the secrets that we keep In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams I said I'm so sorry To have kept you waiting around I wish I could've come up I could've shouted out loud But they got exits covered All the exits underground I wish I could figure it out But the world's upside down In a world upside down Oh, to dream this all off In the islands of the mind The places they can't find We'll hide out And the black sky came down And the cities underground The flowers upside down In our dreams Oh, to meet you again To pass you on the stairs To see you everywhere In my dreams 'Cause they watch us in sleep And the language that we speak And the secrets that we keep to ourselves In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams I said I'm so sorry To have kept you waiting around I wish I could've come up I could've shouted out loud But they got exits covered All the exits underground I wish I could figure it out But the world's upside down I said I'm so sorry That the world has fallen down I wish I could do something more I could shout it out loud They got exits covered All the exits underground I wish I could figure it out But the world's upside down In a world upside down That two days of your [?] while you're on summer I hope you found our horror to discover We should always scream [?] with each other That two days of your [?] while you're on summer I hope you found our horror to discover We should always scream [?] with each other That two days of your [?] while you're on summer
The ending is more like: Back to the days of your [?] after the last summer I hope you can be found, pack up the frown our long-lost brother We share all of our dreams into the screen but not with each other Back to the days of your [?] after the last summer
I’ve loved this song from the moment I first heard it. I was wondering what drum that sound was, I thought it was a closing hihat put through some computer filter, but it’s like some tambourines being hit from above. I can’t get enough of this song.
Was that a good song? Some of us will never know thanks to being deafened by "BBC Radio 1" in the beginning. I wish many small inconveniences on the editor who thought that the sound levels were okay.
LYRICS : Exits / Foals "Now the sea eats the sky But they say it's a lie And there's no birds left to fly We'll hide out Oh, the weather is against us Houses on the ground And flowers upside down In our dreams In the eye of the storm In the land where you were born We try to make no sound We hide out 'Cause they watch us in sleep And the language that we speak And the secrets that we keep In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams In our dreams I said I'm so sorry To have kept you waiting around I wish I could've come up I could've shouted out loud But they got exits covered All the exits underground I wish I could figure it out But the world's upside down In a world upside down Oh, to dream this all off In the islands of the mind The places they can't find We'll hide… "
He’s a great guy and a perfect fit, unfortunately they didn’t record the parts with him which would have been desirable surely, Yannis’ big ego took over instead so he could fill all vocal spaces on the album.
MetalMonkey Leroy I wouldn’t say its Yannis’ ego, but more that Jeremy isn’t really part of the band so they obviously didn’t record with him. Jeremey fits in perfectly tho
Walter was amazing but Foals managed to find a great replacement. They will use Jeremy on tours for economic reasons mostly. Saw them live last Friday night and was astounded. They are the best live band touring presently. The new album has not a single bit of filler on it.
honest to god i heard this at my gym and i had to see the band for myself...fukin genius..from the keys thru the drums.......no one over doing anything playing like a team....the bass players vocals are crazyy.woooow.... sounds a bit like depeche mode..jus a lil bit...but soo amazing
