Foam takeout container/Best Decoupage craft /how to recycle styrofoam boxes/ food boxes reusing idea

You can print out your favorite pictures on typing paper and apply the same way. They make nice little gifts too. Just add what ever you like and paint it with the glue. My old desk was fixed up using my favorite fabric in the same way. I had a bunch of fabric I had saved up as scraps. I cut to fit the area, and then brushed out with the paste and placed each one. Then brushed out the top fabric with a first coat, all in one direction. Once it dried I added a second coat in the cross direction. Then finished it off with a thick layer of spray lacquer. It really turned out looking bad ass. Way better then I expected. Made it appear to have a coat of clear glass on top. The fabric the soaked up the decko made the fabric look shinny and painted on. Like art work. If you do this just remember to use a clean damp cloth when it's time to clean. Finish up with a dry cloth to dry it. If water gets past the top finish. It could mess up the holding power of the glue. So, keep it dry if you can. Durable as hell otherwise. Extreme heat can melt the glue as well. Hot cup of coffee made an imprint in the finish. Use a coaster if you will be setting anything real hot on the surface.

Styrofoam is actually recyclable here in Tx where I live, along with paper, cardboard, aluminum, several kinds of plastics, bottles and jugs, glass and sometimes tin cans. You put it all in one container , and they separate it

That is so neat. Can you reuse the cement you scraped out?

Less waste if you just decopage the box. Or if you want a plaster of Paris tray sit another tray on top before it sets to create the bowl then you wouldn't have to scrape any out, much less waste

I enjoyed this video but, I am all about washing everything out first with hot soapy water and drying it off. Before you poured in your concrete mixture you could see a reddish food residue on the bottom of your food container. I think your napkins are very unique but, I think too the platter you made would look really cool just glazed. I love little glass trays for my bedroom dresser as the catch all for my jewelry. This is really cool. You made it a year ago on April 11th too and I just found it today. I had a pottery wheel as a kid and use to make cool things with my dad. I also think your glass tray would look cool if on the bottom you glued those glass floral stones to them that you can buy at Michaels or the Dollar Tree. Also, do not know if you wear a face mask over your nose when you were sanding down your tray but, it is important to take care of our lungs. I have COPD and I have never smoked - I have always had employment in different industries and it catches up to you after awhile. Thank you for a cool video.

This has nothing to do with taking a harmful product out of our environment it should be posted under arts and crafts! after you make your wall paper covered plaster of Paris bowl. you still send the foam container to the land fill. loose the annoying music!

What is the mixed material? Plaster of paris, a homemade flour mixture? What is it made from, should say or show in video....great idea though, but maybe paint the foam, cut up and embed into the tray, then seal, to Use/ repurpose the styrofoam

This video is the first in series of videos , the way i see it. Many people rush into making comments that are not constructive. I wast temped as well but I went and followed the other link and understood what's going on with the left over foam. What we need to learn is that nobody is forcing us to watch it , so when one says "I wasted my time" it was one's option . I am concerned that you ( the author of the video) are exposing yourself to acetone that is toxic to inhale and to touch. Please take measures! Thank you for your time and effort!

I guess what she used in the beginning was gesso used for moulding, it's called Aquaplast, sold in DIY shops.

You are wasting alot of product you could have washed the staraform really well and decopaged the napkin over it .

Why is this considered reusing styrofoam? It still goes into the land fill. It is a nice creation. You just need put a different title.

Finalmente nunca se le dio un reuso para largo plazo al unicel. Ese marco se puede hacer con un plato de plástico. Me decepcionó.

I think it would save a lot of time and use less product if you place another foam tray (separated by plastic wrap) inside the the first tray after your pour the cement and before the cement dries...the inside shape will be perfect then.

Great idea but I still have no idea of the initial liquid that was poured into the Styrofoam to create the final item.

Thanks for your idea, but i'm going to use that Styrofoam, i'm going to lay out a colorful napkin design inside of it, than i'll paste it up & seal it with a floor wax, believe me this stuff works & it's not only cheaper, it's not dangerous with fumes like most varnishes. for the wax I use it's a mere $8.49 for 32 ozs, from Lundmark, I use it to seal all of my clay jewelry & it works much better than Mod Podge, I got mine thru Amazon..

Make a mould! negative,positive and then a mother mould. IT takes a little time extra but with the effort you will save so much time later on.

The final product looks like a paper plate🤔🤔🤔what’s the use of it? Nd the mold is going back to the garbage 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨.

For those of you criticizing the comments which are only telling the truth, you need to be more observant. At no part in this video did she recycle anything. It doesn't matter about another video. This video was a waste of time and I'm certainly not going to fill anything with plaster of Paris to make something else. It was a disappointment waiting until the end to see what was going to happen. I don't feel like watching another video to see what she did with the container. That makes this one click bait. Btw, making truthful observations is not rude. Maybe some of her other videos are better.

For me it’s a waste of time and money I can go and buy a dozen of those Styrofoam plates at the dollar store for a dollar plus what I do with my leftover Styrofoam is cut it up and use it in my plans for aeration then I’m saving money plaster Paris is very expensive

I would put some coats of plaster of Paris to the mold then sand it then put a napkin with flowers then varnish it that’s a way to use the styrofoam don’t trow it to the trash
