S had his Avionics Hat on with this afternoon visit. This was a ' Wack the Simba Gong branch ' Visit. S held the branch in the last 10 % of highly Cantilevered carry position--so that he could fly at a lateral distance from S Br and hit it with other end of the carried branch and it would strike/slide off it and still be carried into the Nest for deposition.. Some days he carries short branches and flies entirely to the right side of S Br. directly into the Nest. But He seems to LIKE to slap that S Br branch with a carried piece of Lumber most days. Never seen an Eagle do that on a consistent basis. But not many Nests have a Pair of Eagles that 'Sing loudly while Eating a Gift Fish or Cluck like a Chicken in their Sleep while dreaming of (?). Must be the 7100' altitude. Thank You Cali---and the One that made these Special Eagles for US to enjoy.

@@jacquicoder7160 Large birds like eagles like affectionate gestures directed to head and neck areas. Shadow's pecking at J's lower wing or tail feathers is an attention getting gesture on his part. He knows her reaction beforehand--that's why he does it. Spirit used to peck her Mom's feet when she was annoyed with something her Mom had done--and sure to provoke a sharp response. If i stroked my pet crow's feet, it would strongly peck me---but loved hand and finger caresses around the head/neck area. What we see here with Eagles is no different. J frequently does closed beak caresses around eye feathers of S.

@@jenstacey7743 Spirit---Special to me also. there are 3 tribute videos of Spirit--- Cali, Fobby and Patricia Tavel--who has the best of the three. The only tribute she video made. A Video that was inspired in Heaven. Longest and best of music background of the three.Y.T-- 6+ min: "Spirit"---Patricia Tavel . Happy to recommend since you are also a big fan of J& S.

I wondered too and also reviewed previous videos. It wasn’t there on the 24th.

I noticed that she seemed like to be less proactive about moving sticks much. Worries me that this could be an issue for the days ahead. Also noticed her talons seem slightly scarred up.

It is not unusual to see remnants of food or nesting materials on their beaks. Jackie was seen after this episode with a clean beak. 😊

It isn’t quite their time yet. They are a bit behind the Eagles on the east coast … patience !!!
