It's not the left, it's the neo liberals have a problem with this policy as to how the state can dictate whom you can associate with and what clothing you can wear. True leftist want criminal gangs delt with and it should have been sorted 50 years ago, when the problem started. This legislation is unworkable.
This media should all be fired their questions are so negative why worried about what they are calling this new plan you're so biased about this government you'd rather have your mates who did nothing for 6 years ohhhh the kindness and the country is stuffed great work Police
About time... use the military if necessary to back up the police..these gangs have been let get out of control by both sides of the politics since the 70s... they've become a real and present danger to our communities and also to our democratic system of government!!!.❤️🇳🇿
THIS IS ALSO THE TIME THE REPORTERS ALSO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO DO RESPONSIBLE REPORTING AND ASSIST THE POLICE IN CURBING THE CRIME &CRIME RATEZ!!!!!???? SO PLAY YOUR PART U USELESS REPORTERS!!!!!!
The media do not listen - come on surely we have better journalists than this load of rubbish...Very pleased to hear that the Police are at last getting the support needed to get on top of the Gang trouble - hope they bring back the Water Cannons....
I think that NZ IRD should also have a separate department that interacts with the police. The police must have the power to ask gang members for tax receipts for purchases of eg motorbikes, then the gang member must be able to show how he legally obtained the money. It these proofs are NOT forthcoming the IRD becomes involved with legal penalties. Of course if no purchase receipt and proof of legally obtaining the money the goods are confiscated and sold on police sales or in some cases destroyed. That would put a stop to to one big gang advantage. Ie luxury goods being bought with illegal $. Gang patches is a minor issue and can easily be circumvented. The REWARDS of gangsterism must be removed.
Could you prove how you got all you owned when you only have to keep domestic receipts for two years .. people accumulate over a lifetime ... Plus the police in asset seizure the police only got to prove . On the basis of probability , a civil law Quilty .. which is 50..001% .. the person accused of unearned assets has to prove 100% he is innocent ..beyond reasonable doubt ....the whole onus of proof switches around ... And police use it against everyone in the end as proven in USA etc .. when obvious wealth yes grab , but not just go after people without a crime included in asset seizure like they can do , and DO now .,,, no .
Yeah more support for the Victims , Criminals get all the help and support for Free in Jail & on probation, where the Victims suffer in Silence...Not fair .. I've spent the 1st 35 years of my life on the wrong side of the Law i know 😶🌫️
Look at what happened when wellington was brought to its knees, where was the army? They should've been there backing the police. A strong govt is one that is backed by its police and army. Where's ours at? They just play at soldiering except of course for our special forces.
It takes a government edict to get military to assist police in maintaining peace. Guarding earthquake and cyclone damaged areas is a NZDF output. Using them to go after gangs, is not.
@@AmonAnon-vw3hr Exactly, they're too beholden to the powerful protected minority classes, many of whom have family members involved in gangs to be able to do anything.
The 501 deportees from Oz don't help. All up, 3058 people have been deported since 2015. More than 1800 of them, about 60%, had committed an offence or been linked to one since arriving in New Zealand.
Considering M Mitchell has been a MP since 2011 ( 12 years +) years and been a Minister of a number of areas he does not always seem to on to it Intermediate of facts.
Damn, I was hoping Coster was stepping down, finally admitting his continued underperformance and failures as NZ police chief playing politics while crime soars.
Someone needs to tell Mark Mitchell he isn’t the incoming government he is actually the government unless he prefers to say that knowing he has 6 months left in the job if crime doesn’t reduce
Just words. There has always been an organised crime unit. This is just government propaganda. Banning gang patches is not just pointless but has negative implications. If more gang members decide to adopt facial tattoos then it will be so much more difficult for them to grow up and out of gangs because they will be virtually unemployable. The most successful organised gangs in New Zealand are the four Australian banks.
@@robertvanruyssevelt7159 No, the only way to reduce harm from gangs is to either prevent them from doing anything at all, or make it so utterly hellish to be a gang member that people would rather reject their family members then join one.
Yes followed by mental illness caused by cannabis 1 in 6 of users look at the international studies in the medical journals The police deal with these mental health problems we all pay for the medication to control these patients Money spent on mental health means less money for other medical treatments more medical staff and other things the community needs and huge problems for family coping with their psychotic relatives
I agree 100%, Sir. Alcohol is by far the most socially destructive and pervasive legal drug. It's most likely only 2nd to meth in a list of legal and illegal combined. The sooner we're honest about the substances that truely unhinge the already unhinged the sooner society heals. "Don't ask 'why the addiction?', ask 'why the pain?'" - Dr. Gabor Mate
British medical journal studies show that 1?in 6 who smoke cannabis develop paranoid schizophrenia ie do you want to live in a society where 1 in 6 has paranoid schizophrenia who pays for the medication Police are already over worked dealing with mental illness Every country that has legalised cannabis has had an increase in mental illness Canada California etc Look at the studies So will not decrease police work 5 out of 6 people will be ok 1 out of 6 will be a problem not to mention lung disease and cancer
@@AmonAnon-vw3hr yes and I had a practice in K rd and boy did we have a lot of people on the bene with mental disorder and what do you think the bill was to the country for all the mental health patients. Many communities around the world are regretting the decision to legalise
They wear patches on their skin. The gatherings for funerals revving bikes and burning rubber isn't a crime or intimidating. Driving them to hide in plain site is more dangerous.
@@JRTIGER07 it's kids causing the ram raids and smash and grabs. Free club sports run through the local schools with free transport to games, so many kids would love to play rugby, league or tag, but at a cost of $300 and up it's out of reach for many parents. With all the gears, travel to trainings and games and club fees it gets expensive. And many parents just can't afford it or can get their kids there.
@@loubliss7471 Great idea, those options were available for me as a kid I'm 51 now ...Never stopped me breaking the Law ...Parents need to take responsibility for the where about of their Kids & who they are hanging with ...Most of those Kids doing robberys are from Gang related families ...Sports is ok if your good at it but Education and Taha Māori will go a long way as well ..Make Education more affordable for the Less fortunate and open up Local Maraes & Service centers 7dsys a week for those as risk
Great idea 🙋 Make education more Affordable for the Lest fortunate (and if The Kids are bullies home school them) Make Parents Accountable for their Kids that are too young to go through the court Systems ..Maybe Parents will pay more attention to where their Kids are & who they are hanging out with ...Sports is ok if your good at it, but Education and Taha Māori will go a long way also
Peter: This guy, i had a lot of run-ins with him, not run ins, threats to this prone head, i told this employee, his power only gets him up the ladder how i see it, not how he see it, i love it when these people come back, i play a game of cards where i stack the deck, won every time, never him, if its chess, stalemate, locked into position, stalemate, stalemate stalemate, stalemate, we are here 12 years later, i love it because my move is checkmate, see every game stalemate stalemate, stalemate, never loss stalemate stalemate, stalemate,
The gangs will revert to their gang colours, this would create a problem, for civilians in these colours, just saying… at least with patches theyre identifiable
Make sure the Police who don't take prompt action on arresting those wearing patches are also held to account too. Waste of time putting money there where the law isnt enforced!!
Get rid of these evil drug gangs and give an increase in pay for our Police Force units but also give a lot more support for our Māori communities too 💪🏽💖
Immigrants brought the drugs here , catholics brought the dope , Asian brought the Meth , all Immigrants have brought to our home is drugs , guns and greed . Maori knew nothing of this till they came to our shores . And here we are today 😂😂😂😂
How can any so-called freedoms! loving democratic government -ignore and destroy our NZ Bill of rights under section 17 which allows freedom of association, expression and gatherings, which allows our right of protest
They are not killing Nz rights these are gang members not new zealanders ,they operate above our law so they don't get the benefit of the protection of our laws
This guy is a softy on gangs bring back team police units like 30 years ago They would of sorted out these thugs Yesterday no helmets, burn outs celebrating a killer Commissioner grow some balls ,lead your men or resign
