I would not own a focus if not for Ken Block, man was my idol, hadn’t shed a tear in years until then. So much respect from that man. Also want to take a moment and say thanks to you as well for everything you have done for the community yourself
I dont care how many videos you watch or how many times you see this rare breed of car, Nothing compares to driving one. Was always a bucket list car of mine. Not no more very proud owner of a 18 nitrous blue. Smile everytime I see it.
cameron i just want you to know you have a great impact on me as well! i bought an ST almost a year ago to the day and haven’t looked back! i watched your videos and it gave me the confidence to do whatever i felt was needed! The car is a blast 😎❤
The main reason I got my ST was cuz of the st you built. Fell in love with it with that series. Been watching since the Mazda speed. Found your channel with the Yuma fair one you posted actually. Been watching ever since. Congrats on the growth man.
Back in 2018 I drove 560 miles from San Antonio to El Paso to trade my ST for a RS then 560 miles back home to San Antonio the same day. It's the Race Red RS and I thought I'd never see one given that the numbers they sent over were so limited. 4 years later and I still have it. I almost made the mistake of trading it for a 350GT last summer but two days later I was back at the lot to reclaim my Focus. It does everything I need it to do and its fun to drive. The Ken Block video in the white tester RS made me want one when they came out.
Crazy that in December I found your channel shortly after buying a 2017 RS and watched your entire ST build series and being sad that you let it go (I had an ST as well back in 2017 and wish I didn't sell it, but FWD drives sucks in new england.) I've also had an 04 STi and a 2015 WRX, RS is certainly better than them all IMO. I am also in shock about the timing of getting my RS.. and your intro really made me think about how much more Ken affected my life from skateboarding and on... still heartbreaking..
You helped me so much with my ST your build videos are easy to follow and super detailed as well as being entertaining on top of everything else! Excited for the RS build 🙌🏾👌🏾🔥💙💯
I watched you build that ST from the ground up, and that's what inspired me and made me want an ST so bad. Now here we are, playing with the big boys. You're such an inspiration to me Cameron, and your laid back, humble personality is what I hope to have this year. Can't wait to see what you do with this beast. Do it for Ken.
Man Cameron, I did about the same thing as you. I loved my ST (currently trying to sell it) but I went and got a nitrous blue RS myself 2 months ago. Loving it! You're huge for the car community!!
you deserve 10x the love you get. You are seriously one of the only ones out here being a role model for the great part of the car community. As I have and others, I hope you continue to make these videos for us so we can all be together in our comfort
U need to get ahold of Austin olmos you'll find him in the focus groups on RU-vid he can make ur wing look amazing with blue carbon or any color u like
I remember seeing ken block doing the reveal on the RS and remember telling myself I would own one in the future and then 5 years later I got one and a year later lost it and block had everything to do with me getting that RS and I can’t wait to get back on track and get another one l
Yo about that almost dying at idle, it's almost for sure the purge valve. They're known to go bad and cause that in basically every st that i'm aware of
I’m here because I love the Focus RS. They are very rare to see on the road. Subscribed to see what performance is going to be added to this badass. By the way, I have a 2017 RS2 frozen white. 👍🏼
Moments like this shows the love car enthusiasts have and the connections we have no matter where we are on the earth. Moments like this bring us all together. Be safe my brothers and sisters
So,I only own an se, but ken has still inspired me to get into rally cross. Yes the car is slow, but I’ve learned so much with it and have become a better driver. Hopefully i can get an st soon.
Ken is THE only reason I own a focus st and one of the biggest inspirations in my love for cars. He is second to only my grandfather. Ken was and is, a legend. Thank you for taking a moment to honor him.
So hyped to see another focus!!! These cars are so fun to drive and toss able. I have 2015 ST, don't think I can ever get rid of it. Turbo and tune coming up next!!. Plus we have the stronger motor ;) RIP Ken Block
I'm new to the car community. My late husband was gonna teach me more about the ST he convinced me to buy. Your videos helped provide a lot of good info & info I'm still learning. I am forever glad to have found your channel. You're honoring Ken & his legacy 💕
My life has always been struggle, but I’m keeping motivation this year so I can buy an ST and hopefully down the line an RS. A man can dream, and only that man can fulfill that dream! RIP Ken Block I’m a love this new series
My RS has the same rev drop thing when I fill it up. Apparently, it's a known thing and is nothing to worry about. The car only seems to do it with a full tank, after a few miles it goes away. Congrats on the car and welcome to the club! Regular maintenance and oil changes are your best friend.
i had this happen to me almost every fill up and i replaced my evap purge valve and it hasnt done it again, i got a check engine light for it at some point thats how bad it got lol
Love the car! I have a 2018 ST... For the idle it could be plugs or you may just need to clean the intake valves. I have a really easy method as I clean mine once a year to avoid carbon build build up. I think it's amazing you're keeping the ST/RS video's going.
@@jong4939 I use CRC GDI intake cleaner. With a compressor blow wand and some good shop towels. I use borescope that connects to my iPhone via Wi-Fi I bought off of Amazon. I remove the intake so I can get to the intake valves. I put the borescope down one set of valves and go under the car turn over the engine clockwise, while I’m watching the borescope on my phone until one set of valves are closed. I then spray the CRC, GTI, intake cleaner into one set of valves and let it soak for about 15 to 20 minutes. I have a set of intake valve cleaning brushes that are plastic and wire that comes with a screwdriver handle and go down into the valve one at a time and clean both sides. Then I take my compressor blow wand put several shop towels over the intake valve opening while I put the the blow wand down in the intake valve and blow all the carbo & debris all comes out into the shop rag and I just keep doing that until they’re clean one set a time. I’ll look up the items that I use and like them at the bottom here. I definitely was in shock when I first heard. I just watched the highlights from 2022 Rally championships the week before. And my heart sank for those he left behind because like you he influenced and worked closely with so many, and his family as well. Just... man so sad for everyone. A true legend, enjoy the RS, I was in the marked in April and went with an STI over the RS. Its a beast though. Shed dudes!
I also got pulled over when I picked up my NB RS last year. It was my first speeding ticket ever (passing a semi in the left lane). and of course it was in Atlanta. the tix was $200, and then there was a super speeder tix for another $200. SO DO NOT SPEED in Georgia I came back here to comment after watched your Supra pick up video that you got a scanner LOL. I have been watching your videos back in the ST dayz!! We appreciate you for what you are doing for the community!
Hey, awesome vids! loving the content so far. as someone who frequents AZ, what would be the best mixture to make 93 octane? i'm sure you have probably explained in the tons of other vids i gotta go back on. anyone can chime in :)
Ken Block was a HUGE inspiration to myself and all of us. I think you said it 100% correct, Ken would want us all to dream bigger than we ever have before. As someone who first owned a 2018 Focus ST, it was my first car I have ever purchased brand new off the lot only 200 miles. I loved that car but knew my dreams were bigger. After call after call and dealing with dealerships, over a year ago I made the drive 4 states over to let go of the ST but bring home something i've always wanted and dreamed of having. A 2017 Focus RS. I can say now that without a doubt if you dream hard enough and push yourself to do your best everyday you can achieve anything. Every time I get in my RS now I always have a smile on my face and remember that feeling of I can do anything. I didn't think I could ever let the RS go and now with the tragic events that have occurred, losing someone I idolized, and how much Ken really did for the car community, I don't think I can ever let the RS go now. As for you Cameron, I definitely appreciate the hard work and videos. When I had my ST, you were doing the build series on your ST. I remember watching the DIY spoiler riser and taking notes of all the supplies needed and doing it myself that weekend. I love this channel so keep up the good work man. Excited to see what comes next for the Focus RS! Who knows, might be giving me some more ideas! 😅
i feel like ken blocks death is gonna be like a “you remember where you were when you heard about it” like 9/11 was. if it wasn’t for ken block i wouldn’t love cars the way i do. i wouldn’t respect them the way i do. i wouldn’t enjoy being behind the wheel as much as i would if i wouldn’t have watched his videos, EVERY SINGLE GYMKHANA that was dropped over and over again… i wouldn’t be as deep into the love of cars i am. watching a few of the longer tributes that came across my feed genuinely made me cry a couple times because one of the best to ever do it, wont be do it anymore and he did it for all of us to enjoy. RIP #43 we love and miss you big dawg
My dad looked at a White Big turbo Focus ST, it had a lot of frame dmg so we didnt buy it, but instead we got a Focus SE Bright red, black rims, aftermarket headlights. Im thinking of ecoboost swapping it soon, or putting a k20 but ill need a new tranny with out 7-8 different clutches bc those are horrible.
I'm a OG owner of a 2016 Focus RS Stealth Grey with RS2 package. I love my car and the fun part is that many don't know about this car and try to race me and get surprised how fast the car is.
Wow Cameron: thanks! I'm amazed at your fingerprints across the everyday man's fun car community. I bought my 18 ST2 in bluejean new because I heard of Ken's input on the platform... and have been esearching mods since my '14 test drive where the salesman told me when we "get it on the freeway, kick it in the @$$! Ooops...107... Is anyone else thinking of putting "Ken Block, that's why!" in the lower left of the rear window? If you're gong to do more ST installs, I'd gladly come down from Peoria to volunteer mine with a few more things left to install... Thanks and take care. PS Dent Wizard PHX will get your buddy's snowflakes showroom fresh at a reasonable price
January 10th marks 3 years since I picked up my RS, traveled from San Diego Ca to south SF bay area to pick mine up, nothing like a good "road trip" with a new car to really get used to it. My 17 RS2 is the exact same spec as well, nothing beats the nitrous blue shining in the sun! I love my turbo subarus but working at a Ford Service dept made the RS the obvious choice when deciding on a new car to purchase, you're going to love the car, its a riot. 🤘
I watched the st videos bought an st loved it now I’ve been dreaming on the focus rs and wanting to buy one soon these videos are going to be awesome I haven’t seen too many rs builds super pumped
First time watching one of your videos. I enjoyed it. I found it while trying to find decent content for a Focus RS. It is some of the better content so far, and I hope you make a lot more videos. Quick question, though. Did you ever figure out why the focus did the unusual idle? I have a 2017 RS and occasionally mine does something weird on idle. It like lowers in RPM and returns and I have no idea why. It doesn't do it all the time. Anyway, great video and I may subscribe.
I myself got a Ford Focus ST (fell in love with the focus) because of Ken. I’ve never had to deal with a death of a family member luckily for me. However the death of Ken has hit so hard for me. Loved what he did so much. He’s the reason why I started to like rally racing. And just cars in general. RIP Ken Block
Love my ST but have no desire to own a RS after driving the ST for about 5 years now, from price, mods, some of the issues they have or had, my money would be better spent on another platform if I was looking to upgrade or buy a second car, but just my opinion, but Ken block definitely influenced my purchase and didn't realize it initially I watch his videos religiously as a kid.
first things first RIP KEN, so stoked on the RS man its going to be a great addition to the channel. Wished you could've stayed in Houston a lil longer the vibes are perfect out here would've loved to meet you in person . All in all keep dreaming big man lol it never hurts to try!! p.s Bucees is second to NONE
Having a 2016 ST3, its got all of those features that the RS does...except for the stuff that actually makes an RS, an RS. I have the heated steering wheel, the leather recaros, the sync 3 display, etc.
I still have my 15 St3 while I've loved her since new I will be posting her up for sale, I bought an 05 c6 and it is just an absolute monster. I'll miss my ST but I'll always remember all the fun I had with that car.
about the rev drop thing it probably is just something with the EVAP, probably with the evap purge valve or something similar, my focus kept having that rev drop like every time i filled up the car with gas and it turned out it was that. super easy fix and it hasnt done it anymore.
I was hell bent on getting an rs for my first sports car. But I couldn’t find one inside 600 miles from me and I ended up finding a 2019 California special for cheaper somehow. Still want an rs tho
I was a chevy guy for the longest time and hated ford because my whole family was all about chevy watching ken block in the fiesta and the hoonicorn made me get my first ford focus st, now i traded the st in and got a mustang gt and an f150. Rip ken block.
If it wasn't for watching your videos I would not of got a st. It's fantastic it's everything and more to me as it helps me out with my mental health. Any ways thank you and I'll be watching everything you do to the RS 😀
Flying to buy a used RS sight unseen is a major commitment…. I almost had to do it many times, however I was fortunate enough to find one in state & I was able to drive it first, before buying it.
I started woth a ST and upgraded to an RS about a year and a half ago. I love it. I still remember the first time I saw it and the first time I drove it. It's such a great feeling. I just wish I got one with more options, doesn't have the heated steering wheel, no heated seats, not even power seats. I didn't notice when I bought it, I was just to excited to get it I didn't even notice
this video reminded me of when I was 10 years old I came across one of the gymkhanas on youtube and I remember showing my parents the gymkhana and saying I want to do that when I'm older.l
Ken reignited my passion for cars in general when my friend introduced me to hoonigan (around when the drift London video came out). The way that he was not only fearless in his driving, but in pursuing what HE wanted to do, it really inspires me. #KB43ver
I have had both st rn though, if i was rich and i could use rs for just track then yeah rs is the move but st is so fun, and pulls pretty hard for a fun daily and can become a monster for not to much! Honestly hard choice st for comfort and fun, rs for drifts and track shit, idle is normal goes up and down huh,
I built my st bc of Ken he made me fall in love with focus’s when I was making more money I bought my RS I have now and it is the best feeling in the world to hop in it and get my own slice of Ken block in gravel or snow
When I bought my RS last year I did the same thing my friend and I flew out to buy the car and take turns driving it home and on our way have a blast in the canyons.
Hey man if ur still in Phoenix we should get a st/RS meet going! I have a fiesta st but I see a lot of Phoenix fiesta st's and keep thinking we need a st meet
