I've got around 40mpg in my cupra ateca (higher car same engine but with a tune ) on a long drive , on eco mode , but jesus thats painfull :D. You can do it , but it doesnt mean you should
This is easily the best review of the Focus ST Track Pack on RU-vid. I took the plunge and put a deposit down on one of these last month - after watching your review I cannot wait until she arrives in August!
2 month lead time is good - good luck with it - fun on its way. Thanks for the comment. You can send this to your friends and tell them - this is the car I ordered :)
@@marklehmann5867Took delivery of her last week - stunning machine. I got lucky and got dibs on a cancelled factory order! You won't regret the purchase - this car is a riot, though adding the Mountune M330 package really opens the engine up and makes use of those massive Brembo's. Wishing you health and many miles to enjoy!
Great vid. I have from new a 2020 Orange Fury Mk4 ST with the Mountune M330 map. 4,000 revs??? I'm typically at 2,6-2,8 in the appropriate gear and I am at the legal limit, 30/50/70. From 3,000 she just gets so much attention and we are acquiring points on the licence. Could be the map, I can't rememebr drivng her without it as that was three years ago. I wouldn't make the switch to a 4.5. Someone I know did and now regrets selling his MK4 Orange Fury. Have to say would like the light weight alloys though, but reckon the bespoke pirelli rubber for them would prove expensive in later life.
thanks for the review! As other people said, good execution and editing. Overall an accurate and fun review that was a perfect balance of humour and skillful reporting 😃😃
Brilliant review! Fast Fords! Hot hatches... Fiesta ST or indeed this! So overlooked. And yes would be on my Lotto buy list. Thank you for bringing this hidden gem to our attention again.
Nice video, good review. Still love mine, fully loaded pan roof etc etc mk4 orange fury from new in 2020. Got the Mountune M330 on her, they didn't have the M365 back then, which given my time again would be a no-brainer. Incredible car and lovely to see a reviewer raving over one. 😁😎👍
Be me. Have a 2017 Focus ST3. Sits in garage except for road trips. Only has 26,000 miles on it. Live in America. Cannot replaced. Ford is losimg Billion$ due to US ev-regulations.
I'm both shocked and disappointed by the clothing that Howard was wearing in this video! I thought he'd dress appropriately by wearing a shell-suit and a backwards worn baseball cap with the words _"Innit"_ upon it? 8-))... However... I have to confess I was actually searching RU-vid for *"Aleksandr Scriabin On Cars"* and surprise, surprise... This video popped up?! _Who'd have thought?_ ;-))... But another great review from the one and only HR _(Aka Aleksandr Scriabin.)._ 8-))...
Can't compete with the Golf GTI on image and perceived desirability, but superior in all other aspects. Probably the best hot hatchback that doesn't cost ridiculous money (yes, Honda Civic Type R, I'm talking about you). Honourable mention to the Hyundai i30N.
I am sorry but this review has been so good I had to watch it again. The constant taking a piss at whoevers turn it is is just gold. Keep it up and thank you!
Whoa, Howard! What happened to the knitted jumper wearing, non-facial haired, executive driving, Howard? He’s transformed into a Shakespearean boy racer, that’s who! P.S. I’d just find it hard to spend the £40k I don’t have, on a Ford. P.P.S. Keep up the great editing and more importantly, the fun.
Interesting, my little 3-cylinder 182hp Focus ST(-line) does the same thing above 4000rpm, completely different car beyond that point. It's economical on my daily commute, and it's sporty when I want it to, can tow a trailer, interior is nice, seats are comfortable and the prefacelift one still has climate control buttons instead of stupid touchscreen
It's very likely that an extension for"ice" cars (normal cars) will be required (probably at the very last minute due to current poor planning). The electric revolution will remain more or less unfit for purpose for it to run to 100% capacity within just a few years time. Plug in hybrids, probably, but electrification will not be the be all and end all. I just hope that car manufacturers will start to regain some sort of sense and continue to produce "ice" cars until a much more viable fuel or engineering alternative comes into play. To absolutely rely on 100% electrification and not to give the opportunity for the public to question anything about it is complete and utter madness. To ignorantly plough and push ahead this game will very likely not go down well at all with the majority of people. We don't have to go ahead with the EV revolution so why on earth should we especially when fossil fuels are not the main reason for climate change.
Not my favourite thing why Ford keep discontinue models gets me !I love the the kq series laser but I have a Honda Civic sedan EK1 worth probably 4 times more!!!!
The mk3 RS is ok but the mk4 st has quicker in gear acceleration (standard) I've got a 3 focus the newer 4 focus sync and other bits I'd prefer. Not so boyracer looking
@@mdc123-v2v well it's down to preference isn't. It isn't the quickest in the line up no . i Believe the honda civic R is rated the best however i hate the look of it and the interior & accessories i believe it is 10k more expensive too from what i understand. i have looked at the other cars you have mentioned too and for different reasons theres always some i always prefer on the focus st. i find the ford focus to be a good all rounder. comfortable, nice interior, stylish without looking like a boy racer. however i make no judgement if someone prefers something different. there is so many different cars and vehicles in general and everyone is going to prefer something over another for different reasons and everyone has different personal taste
It’s not a dual clutch, it’s a torque converter auto, but it does a good impression of a dual clutch the way they’ve set it up. It’s actually the 8 speed box that’s in the Escape/Kuga, but with second gear electronically disabled
BMW 128ti , Cupra Leon is approx on the same price so it's not a rip off ... also the S3 and the and the AMG A35 is far more pricey...not to mention that the current GTi has awful exterior 😂
Had a mk2 MR290 for 5 years, it was bullet proof. sold it as 3 rd child came along and only had 4 seats(st3) When I hear one drive by now I'm like damn they sound good❤
LOL, “proper”…the Merc is on a platform co-developed originally with Nissan/Renault in 2012, and the Audi is a Golf in drag sitting on the MQB platform which also dates back to 2012. The Focus has by far the most modern and rigid platform, being designed all-new in 2018. Which one do you think makes the better hot hatch basis? The Merc and Audi are so posh under all that lipstick.
Nice car but I moved from one of these to a M135i and for me the BMW is higher quality and better to drive. Only area the ST betters it is the exhaust noise, I miss the occasional pops and bangs.
