A recent storm over the South Fork Watershed has caused fast water in South Fork, carrying mud, debris, and current speed down into Middle Fork. The current was much faster than usual in lower Middle Fork and the amount of debris to dodge required close attention. Where the two forks met the blending of muddy and less muddy water made a fascinating turbulent display. Due to the inability to see dangerous snags through the muddy water in South Fork today, I chose to cruise up Middle Fork to see what launching a boat might look like at the Old Bridge on Combs road at these lower water levels.
5-8-24, Lake level 540.7'.
