I'm only a pilgrim and a stranger In this unfriendly world I roam Till him whos called me from darkness And promised a heavenly home Of his wonderful love I am telling Wherever on earth I may be I'm striving each day to be faithful To the Savior who suffered for me Chorus. I'm longing for home( I'm longing for home) The sun's going down(the sun's going down) I long to go where ( I long to go where)sweet rest can be found, im just about through(im just about through) this old house of clay (old house of clay) I'm leaving this world( I'm leaving this world) for Glory someday(glory someday) 2. Soon the labors of earth will be ended We'll be leaving this whole world for aye We'll leave the dark valley of shadows For a land that is better they say In the Bible we read of a city Who builder is Jesus were told Someday this frail tent will be folded And this wonderful place shall be home Chorus. I'm longing for home( I'm longing for home) The sun's going down(the sun's going down) I long to go where (long to go where)sweet rest can be found, im just about through(im just about through) this old house of clay (old house of clay) I'm leaving this world(im leaving this world) for Glory someday(glory someday)
I just found Caleb and the Foghorn String Band with Reeb Willms. They're one of the best true string bands out there today. Their harmonies are tight and sound just like I remember with the Carter Family, the Stanley Brothers and they match the best of them.
These folks soar to new musical heights not heard since the Carters, The Stanleys, and the great groups who came to us from the mountains. Such incredible talent!
