Hope lisa ok and a speedy recovery, sam I was watching putting in your battery and it brings back some good and bad memories, and laughing to my self, I done the same thing, measuring lots, cutting once and it didn't fit, same as you called it a night and went for a pint... and not think about it till next time, but you have to laugh. Glad to see you back and good to hear that Lisa's on the mend. I can't fault Fogstar - I built the battery I've put in my Crafter out of their discrete cells - 280Ah at 24v, so around the sameish capacity as yours. I live close to Fogstar, so I've always called in to pick stuff up and I can say they're as friendly and helpful in person as they are on-line. I made the decision to go with a 24v leisure battery as I wanted a 5000VA inverter and to do a gas free build (got a diesel Eberspacher hydonic system for heating and hot water). At some point when prices fall a little more, I'll buy their boxed battery as it's a little more compact than my home built enclosure, plus I could do with the battery heating in winter. For cooking I have a single Sterling IH1 induction hob inside and also use an air fryer. I also have a portable Ikea dual induction hob for cooking outside. I may buy an electric grill as well and if I want a BBQ, I have a cheap and nasty suitcase style portable BBQ. I went with a cheapo domestic fridge freezer (Amica FD1714, £165) and a separate inverter just for that and that works really well. I may well wrap it too. The only problem with that was I couldn't find a good way of keeping the door closed, so I just went with a long strip of velcro knock-off wrapped all the way around it. We decided to hammer the electrics one day - with around 6kWh available, I turned off the MPPT and we drank loads of tea (kettle), had toast for breakfast (toaster), toasted sandwiches for lunch (induction hob) and a roast for dinner (induction hobs, steamer and air fryer). We still had loads of capacity left at the end of the day. Anyway, what I'm saying is that you won't regret going gas free for cooking!

I've got the fogstar drift 105. I'm going to sell mine to my mate and get myself the 208 fogstar drift. I want to just get rid of gas like you and get a 900 watt airfryer..It wont be done for crafty autum meet but deffo for crafty 2025 🙂 I LOVE that wheel arch frame! thats brilliant construction. If you ever start to make em, consider me a customer for when I get the bigger fogstar. epic battery mover lol. I bought 8 of there 300ah cells and wired them in 2's (a pair in parallel +to+ -to-) and made a 600ah 12v battery, added a 200a jk bms and have ran everything off them with my edecoa 3500w pure sinewave inverter, a cheap system but its going to last me years.

I feel your pain. I have been there, persevere. Sorry I had to laugh. I have been building my van for 6 months now and see new things coming along after I have bought and fitted all manor off things. At one point I got a £1000 X 1000amp power bank and now 2500amps are the norm.

Any reason why you didn't go for Renogy? My invertor/charger is 3kw and it charges my 400ah batteries up at 75+ amps. Takes like an hour from dead.
