Hey mate, no never been hit by the foil. I know some of these wipeouts look bad but in thatn split second before it goes really wrong you just eject as far away as possible from the foil. My closest calls have been when its big and getting stuck in solid shorebreaks and after ditching the foil the leash became wrapped around the mast so you are unable to get good distance from the foil. For protection I just always make sure if i dont know where the foil is (by the pull on the legrope) that I cover my head and face with my hands and arms
@@camjrdn6318 Thank you. I have had a few calls with windsurfing and kiting with foilboards. Planning on wearing a helmet and a vest... although that will suck too... Love the video!
@@DroneXL yeah mate thats a good idea to wear the PPE, it will boost your confidence for sure and low confidence and hesitation is one of the things that will get you hurt. My best advice is to bail out before things go really bad and then always be aware where the board and foil are. You cant really get runover by the board the same way you can kite foiling which is good, but it is harder without the kite to lean against and use for stability., so you have to get your weight over the foil to avoid tacos. Good luck!
haha its not as bad as it looks. When you fall the foil just kinda loses all its speed and your body keeps going so you end up away from it. Just need to avoid going over the falls or caught too deep and getting tangled up with it
sorry mate for a long time i didnt know what i was doing with video editing and how to find/use the music i wanted to, i hope you like the music more that i use in the newer videos 🤙
