Foiler
At the exhibition in the Emirates, Enata Marine (UAE) showed its new development - the Foiler hydrofoil boat. The wing system was designed by the Swiss company Hydros Innovation, specializing in the development of similar concepts. Among her achievements are participation in the project of the record-breaking sailing trimaran Hydroptère and wings for the yacht AC 45 of the Land Rover BAR team - participants of the America's Cup.
The peculiarity of the model (length 9.45 m) is that the nose wings (two of them) can be folded, lifting the support planes to the side, and the aft ones (also two) are fixed on rising / falling pylons, in the lower part of which there are propellers.
The Foiler body is made of carbon fiber with parts and separate structures made of steel, aluminum and titanium. The wings and pylons are also carbon - lightweight, durable and rigid. When transporting a vessel (or loading on a superyacht, where Foiler is used as a tender) they fold up, and the pylons rise.
With two BMW engines with a capacity of 320 hp, the Foiler develops 38-40 knots. The exit to the wings takes place at a speed of about 18 knots (7 people on board), although the effect of the wings begins to manifest itself at 12 knots. At a speed of 30 knots, the cruising range is 130-150 miles, at 20 knots - 260 miles (fuel reserve 300 liters).
