Nice foiling! The Nacra 15 is so much more fun than the Nacra 17! I think it's because of the foiling hight and what happens if you have some ventilation on the foils.

Very impressive considering I clocked two Waszp (what's the plural??) early spring ’19 about two miles off Ryde running at 23 knots GPS plotter verified. It's about as far removed from "sailing club" sailing as you can possibly get. But we have to accept (only my but and nobody else's) that these guys are the Formula 1 pilots of the sailing world. Here's a wild suggestion, one day put some average non-racing club sailors on these dinghies and show us the following: • That mere mortals can sail them in benign conditions • Watching mere mortals having fun and the penny dropping realisation shown on camera of truly how skilled our sailors are in these videos • Achieving an inclusivity that just doesn't come across in most of the videos Every so often you have to come off the Olympian tower and engage and encourage the grass roots and retain the grass roots.

There are not many coaches who can teach an average sailor how to foil. Foiling is a constant battle for control. You can't luff, you can't bear away, jibing takes ages and then you have a windsurfer in front of you... Youth sailors are able to learn foiling by doing. But injury rates are still high. I can make a video about how to control foiling if you are interested?

@@leftvassis No offence, but what is your experience on foiling? Switching from C-Boards to full foiling in the Nacra 17 the injury rate sky rocketed. 100% of the teams experienced medium to severe injuries. The need for speed when foiling in waves is also a big problem. As long as you have control no problem, but when you are sending it in 25 knots of wind and you get ventilation in the wrong moment, there goes your cruciate ligament. The big difference is, in most classes you have those injuries when you are starting, in the N17 there's always that risk. For example Thomas Zajac two years ago, one of the Japanese helmsman 2 years ago, CP Lübeck 3 years ago.... and the list continues because as I said, injury rate is 100% of the teams. That's not because foiling is easy or you just need some time to get used to it.

@@born2sail Skill is a matter of time.Im pretty sure any sailor that sails a skiff or any fast dinghy that has twin or even single trapeze will tell you that the risk is always there.Pitchpoling is always there in the back of your mind.Injuries may or may not happen, its a risk you take when deciding you re going to learn on these fast boats. If you understand how weight distribution affects a boat and what more or less power in the sails does to a boat in terms of lift or heel you ll pick up foiling pretty quickly.Just need to understand how foils change your boat.Of course you ll be swimming more than you re sailing in the beginning.

@@leftvassis Nope, thats not the point. You don't capsize very often when you switch. Thats different to the 49er. But if things go wrong they go really wrong. And you are missing the factor of speed in your calculation. It's not only about foil angles and weight distribution. If you foil faster it is more stable. Then you don't have a valide safe option when foiling. I have seen world class sailors crashing into each others because they couldn't luff and they went teabaging while trying to bear away (world ranking 1 crashed into world ranking 3 in Palma). If you are reacting you are way to slow. But tell me, what is your personal experience on foiling boats? Head over to my channel to see mine.
