I can't tell you how much I love my Victorinox Compact. I think it's the real gem in the lineup. It's a two layer but still has the scissors. I use the pen all the time! I've carried it more than 10 years now and love taking it camping.
I carry a Schaeffer pocket knife with me most of the time. I keep that in my truck at all times. I also carry a Mora Bush craft knife which I use quite often when I’m camping. I use both of them quite often for different reasons. And I love them both.. Great information as usual Fraser. I love the little history lesson.
Thanks for watching and posting this note. Tell me more about the Shaffer? I’ve never heard of them. Will google them now. How did you learn about them?
@@moderntentcamping sorry, it’s a Sheffield. it’s a really good knife. I was camping one weekend and discovered I forgot my knife at home so I ran to the hardware store in the closest town. It was roughly $15 at the time that was in 2017. I have pictures of it but no way to post them on here unfortunately. It’s a partially serrated drop point blade tactical EDC pocket knife
Great video on folding, utility knives. You gave me a good idea of which knife I could make useful without unnecessary items on it. Very detailed, with much helpful information as always. Thank you for sharing. Take care Frazier D. Friend... 🇺🇲
I like the foldable Buck 110. She's a bit heavy in the pocket but, I feel, worth the weight because of her strength. For the "extra jobs" around camp, I always have a Leatherman near by. Thanks for the video.
As for Victorinox knives, my default is the Tinker, it is great for general tasks around my home. Sometimes I also reach for my Small Tinker. For outdoors though, I like to use the Walker. It is lightweight and has a bottle/can opener plus a screwdriver combo, blade, and a wood saw. The latter is the reason I bought it. I typically use it as a garden tool for pruning plants, and trees as well as cutting out roots from the ground.
Interesting idea. In my experience, Condensation was more of a problem in small backpacking polyester dome tents. Is that your experience? We haven’t had much of a problem with it After moving up to larger 6P cabin and umbrella-style tents. What type of tent do you have? Of course, we always leave a window partly open.
@@moderntentcamping I have a small 2 man cavas tent. in summer it is not a problem but in colder wetter weather in early spring it can start to build up.
