Twofrd, I have had 3 instrument repair shops in three cities, (Winnipeg/Montreal and now Prince George). and been at this about 22 years. I have to say that your techniques and problem solving never fail to make me smile. That tapping block you used for the Russian instrument, and the amazing results from the bullnose router bit for instance. I am SO enjoying your channel. Thanks Bucko.

Can I make a suggestion - well, more of a request really? Anyone who watches your uploads soon realises that you not only have a wealth of experience and associated tools and work-rounds, but also a well-organised way of working. This suggests that your work area is equally well organised. How about a bit of a tour of where you work, how and where you keep your tools and gizmos so they're all to hand? After all, artists studios are always fascinating places to see and visit, so the same applies to hoping to have a glance inside your own magical realm. Stay well in these difficult times - and thanks for all the videos.

Gusli is already plural like jeans for example. That doesn't stop Russians to add another plural ending to jeans, making them jeansy. So guslis are completely fine I guess

Same thing with dollars. Bucks is already plural, but we use it as a singular (бакс). We add another plural ending (баксы) to indicate plural. Wishful thinking, I guess.. :)

@@brentgilbert805 Good luck at studying Russian! Yeah, most of Slavic languages are free-for-all ones because they are quite widespread (geographically) and sometimes misspells used instead of original word. My teacher told me that word for baked milk originally was spelled as " Томлëное молоко"( Tomlyonoye moloko) instead of " Топлëное молоко"(Toplyonoe moloko) as it's spelled nowadays.

Hey Ted, I don't often comment under video's, but I want to thank you for the great video's! They are a treat every time. I'm not the first to say this, but the way you handle the instruments in your video's is really admiring. No matter what, you give them the respect and care they deserve. Keep up the great video's and stay who you are! Greetings from the Netherlands

My feelings precisely. I dislike those people who say you shouldn't be doing the type of work you do to guitars at the lower end of the spectrum. Firstly - what's it got to do with them how people choose to spend their money? But secondly - how are you supposed to learn how to do the more delicate work? You do not want your first neck reset to be done on a 1930's Martin! So, this Englishman concurs with our Dutch friend....keep up the good work, Sir. Your videos (while still very new to me!) are an inspiration! Thank you!

Several styles of zither are commonly played by the inhabitants of the island of Madagascar. David Lindley and Henry Kaiser recorded, and sometimes played/jammed with, local musicians for their "World Out Of Time" CD's. Some of the performances on those discs are so beautiful, and sophisticated, that they take my breath away (my wife and I used one such piece, "Izahy Si Malala", as part of our wedding ceremony!).These instruments are often homemade; one locally famous Madagascar musician built his instrument from a metal mailbox. There's another guy on the records named Rakoto Frah who makes flutes from aluminum tent poles and is completely fearless musically, no rehearsal needed. Lindley would play a couple bars of something he'd never heard before and the guy jumps right in and plays like he's known the tune his entire life.

I have a 6 string lute purchased from an estate sale in texas, which now resides in Toronto, it needs a couple tuning gears replaces, a full set of pegs, binding repaired, and any information found from interior inspection would be wonderful. The rosette is broken and I attempted to repair the broken headstock with gorilla glue to a pathetic result.
