With family we stayed there in the 1970s and then we went back in the 2000s-very nice site, and nothing much had changed since before. Right by the sea, and nice views too-thank you!
I first camped down the warren in 1974, and my daughter was conceived while camping at the Horse's head! ;o) I've spent many a week down there, but it got to be a pain, with WCCP staff threatening people with court action. Give 'em an inch...
3:04. The remains of building footings to the left of the image used to be large storage sheds, I thought from WW2, as during the 1960s we as children used to get in through a gap and played on the dusty old military-looking trucks and other vehicles stored inside. Interesting to know now that it was an old concrete-making plant for the huge structure.
How about access for disabled people? Maybe a pay and display carpark and better beach entrance. The gate shown is a disgrace. I knew the warren before the cows came and now most of the insects have gone. The warren was the first place the hummingbird moth came from Spain. No more some fool cut all the butterfly bushes down. This place needs money pumping into it. Not cows.
