Folklore Films is a trilogy of short films based around the theme of Yorkshire folklore. This one is loosely based on S. Baring-Gould's "The Boggart of Hellen-Pot".
Great video! Amazing how certain creatures(?) appear in different cultures and multiple stories. I know that boggarts (we call them “bogeymen” here in the US) appear in Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia! Been to Keighley, but my only experience with the actual moor was hearing “On Ilkla Moor Baht’at” sung on the OG All Creatures Great and Small TV series!
You are a fascinating storyteller. Though you say different at the end, I do believe events transpired as you described and there is no need shying from sharing such a unique adventure.
My Mother-in-Law (from South Devon) insisted until the day she died, that she had been "pixie laid", as a child on Dartmoor. Pixie laid, meaning led away and becoming lost. I believe all the different moors have their mysterys.
I have a question for you, have you by any chance seen a RU-vid channel called "The Pre-History Guys" They have an amazing documentary called "Standing with Stones" where they go to many Neolithic sites all over the UK and Ireland (not just Stonehenge mind you) They have just announced that they will be making another film and this is just a thought on my part but, it would be amazing to see you and the pre history guys ( Michael and Rupert ) do some sort of collaboration with each other. Anyway as I said it's just wishful thinking on my part lol. Cheers!
