I'm so glad I found this. I used to dance when I was a kid, and then I made the choice to stop in order to learn piano instead. I never got to dance the more "adult" dances that I'd always admired from the side of the stage in between my own sets. I've always wanted to go back, but with a full time job and other financial responsibilities, I don't have the resources. Now, at least for myself, I can learn one more dance! Thank you.
Great, you explained very well. It’s amazing to watch such a gorgeous dancing art with every detail. The beautiful dresses don’t allow to observe how complex is the whole routine. Thank you.
My aunts danced in Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara many yrs ago. This week my daughter starts folclorico classes just a block away from teatro Degollado!!!
Thanks for posting this!!!! I plan on teaching some kids for summer and I really needed a refresher!! I learned it this exact way!!! You're a marvelous teacher!!!
Lol I'm falling in love with this all over again. I used to practice under the professor in Pomona for a minute. Started in Redlands Ca. He did the choreography for linda Ronstadad cancienos a mi padre.

Also what would be the best dance to learn for four to seven years old. Mother is planning a reunion and since her mom was from Chihuahua, she would like to know and learn which dance that would be. Great grand children want to learn to perform. Would appreciate your input. Thank you
I've had the opportunity to watch a few live Mexican folklore shows and have fallen in love with the dance. I was wondering if the guys footsteps are the same as the women's or if they are different?
Quick question, I recently got shoes for folklorico, they came in from Mexico but they do not have the clavos at the heels and front of the shoe. Do they forcefully need them?
Alondra Fuentes you don't need them. I have several pairs without the clavos that are used when dancing at theaters that want less damage done to their floor.
DZenitram23 these steps are for both males and females. You Can see the full six part tutorial with skirt work and partner work in my online school of folklorico. www.schooloffolklorico.com
great dancer but way too fast for people who are trying to learn the dance. Not enough time to grasp everything and not everything is broken down as it should be for a folkloric tutorial, but besides that, footwork was great!
alejandra villanueva i have my basic step tutorials on my channel and in the tutorials playlist. You have to learn the basic steps before moving on to these videos. Thank you for your comment! I’ll be posting more ASAP
